Hi everyone. I just got my very first laptop, a Helios 16 (PH16-71-997V) and also bought a new kit of RAM to upgrade it. The RAM (a 32GB kit) is detected but runs at 4800 MHz. The kit is a Kingston Fury KF560S38IBK2 that is XMP certified with a maximum config of 6000 MHz at CL38. According to Kingston's site, the memory has three XMP profiles, one 4800/CL38 (at 1.1v), one 5600/CL40 (at 1.1v), and one 6000/CL38 (at 1.35v).

The laptop has a 13900HX which supports 5600 MHz for the memory so I'm wondering why the RAM doesn't run at 5600. The laptop's BIOS is 1.16 which seems to be the latest one available. If anyone has any idea or can help it would be amazing.

    Yeah .. the exact same thing happened on my PH18-72 , i bought the Kingston Fury Impact 6000MHz and it goes down to 4800MHz instead of 5600MHz , after multiple replies with Acer (the last reply from was that my laptop doesn't need to run on 5600MHz 🤣) i decided to buy the 5600MHz Fury and it worked .

    @ChrisCH

    Don't buy the RAM that has XMP, the laptop does not support this and will automatically use the default memory profile, which is DDR5-4800 as stated in the specification file https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KF560S38IBK2-32.pdf

    Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
    Thank you and have a nice day!

    XMP or Extreme Memory Profiles, is an Intel technology that allows you to configure multiple memory
    settings by selecting a different profile, It takes advantage of higher
    than standard memory speeds.

    That's what google says , i am aware that XMP is not available in this laptop but that doesn't mean the ram shouldn't run at max supported frequency , in this case 5600MHz .
