My Acer swift 3 will power on with the screen blank but the keyboard is lit up. I have each tried separately to press the power button for 30 seconds, to press the battery reset button located at the bottom of the laptop, to press the F2, F9, and F10 keys (once with he Fn key, and once without for good measure) without any success. I have tried to plug in a hdmi cable into the laptop; however, that does not display anything. The display was in perfect working condition prior to this and has not needed any repairs. Any assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Power to light the keyboard is not gated by the BIOS, so it comes up when power is turned on with the button, even if everything else is broken. Which Swift 3 model do you have? The N20C12 doesn't tell us, since they seem to reuse those numbers and don't give a cross reference. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SF3xx-xxx-xxxx. When you tried the battery reset button, did you go through the whole procedure? Disconnect everything including the power supply, press and hold the button for 15 seconds, release and wait 15 minutes then plug only the power back in. Don't try to turn it back on until you see the blue battery full charge indicator. That will reset the internal stats for the battery, which may deal with your issue. If not it might be a corrupted BIOS, you can remove the CMOS battery and do a reset then try again after replacing the battery. More suggestions will require knowledge of what computer you have.

Yeah, so many people try just the button press, which disconnects the battery for a bit. Without the rest of the procedure it's just that, a quick disconnect. If the internal data is corrupt it stays corrupt…
