    Try fn + f7, f7 key alone to enable and disable the touchpad

    On some models, you can try fn+ f6, f6 alone.

    After disabling and enabling the touchpad check how it is working..

    If it is still not working
    Go to support.acer.com
    chose your country
    type snid or chose your model
    go to drivers - Install the i/o drivers first and then install the touch pad driver

    Do you see the touchpad symbol on the key f6 or f7 or any other key.

    You need to try the right key to enable and disable the touchpad

    @RickCarte

    It might be a different combination of keys. We need to know the exact model to inform you about the right key. However try to press fn + f1,f2,f3,f4..f12 or just press f1,f2,f3,f4.. f12 One of the keys might be used to enable and disable the touchpad. Accidentally you might have pressed and disabled it.

    Reinstall the Intel IO driver (Acer Support site) and reboot, thoroughly clean the surface of the touchpad with a little bit of hand soap and wet tissues if very greasy. Set the touchpad sensitivity to maximum.
