SATA instead of IDE ? When i change this restart notebook then crash simply wont boot on SATA.

Hi,

I just want ask… Why i cant change my SSD in an old notebook Extensa 5620 from IDE to SATA in BIOS? When i change this restart notebook then crash simply wont boot on SATA. Is not supported? I have SATA SSD.

    I tried bcdedit command also registry edit but not success... I set in bios ahci then i installed Windows now works.

    When the boot drive's operating mode is changed, the operating system must typically be re-installed on the drive's new operating mode in order to boot.
