I just bought this Aspire A715-76G, 7 months ago at first everything was alright even though I felt like the battery was draining very fast like 1-2 hours even though I using it only for coding and doing my homework while listening to Spotify. I only play Asphalt 9 and stumble guy, and barely had time to play with it. Also just one month ago, the laptop couldn't turn on only by itself, the power adapter needs to be plugged in and then you can turn it on but after it turns on I can plug it out and use it as normal. Then just a few days ago, I checked my laptop's battery health and only 7 months in use the battery health dropped 16%. Also just now I updated my BIOS to repair my EC and the 'turn on' problem was resolved but now the longevity of the battery and the drastic draining of my battery are still the problems.

My question is, how to solve my fast-draining battery and keep my battery health stable? Thank youuu🙇‍♀️

1-2 hrs is normal for a 1-2 year old battery playing internet videos or games at higher than 50% screen brightness & 3rd party virus scanners running in the background. Especially if using balanced or performance mode instead of battery-saver mode.

BIOS updates should also include same battery fixes that were made in previous versions. Accordingly, downgrading should not make any difference to the battery in your situation. And BIOS downgrading has an even higher risk for causing irreversible damage or side effects than updating.

Brand new batteries can lose up to 20% design capacity per year after manufacture just sitting on a shelf. Doesn't matter if it's being used or not. You should not have to do anything to extend the life. The operating system should optimally manage battery charge/discharge cycles.

Thank you for the answer, may i ask one question? Is it normal for the battery of my 7 months laptop only last 1-2 hours in 100% state after charging? Also, do i need to downgrading my bios from version 1.54 to version 1.07 the one about optimalized battery charging? Thank youuu

Your battery seems to running OK for a laptop with this much graphics power & capability. Enjoy it. 🙂

I kinda worried because in the web said Acer Aspire A715-76G could last for 8 hours, but mine only for 2 hour max. So i felt like there is something wrong with my battery and when i checked my battery health that dropped 16% only 7 months since i bought it make me even worried. With your answer of my question takeaway my worried. Thankyou so much❤️🫶
