I purchased Acer A315-41. First keyboard damaged. Second time HDD drive not working after replacement with the new HDD again the HDD not detecting. Later i replaced with SSD, running with the third drive but lot of times crashed. Now motherboard not working due to processor, now see the height of the Acer, the motherboard for A315-41 is not easily available because of AMD processor. If i go for replacement of motherboard it will cost to same of new laptop. Acer is not at all customer friendly and making worst machine ever and increasing the e-waste globally. Acer should be BAN globally for creating e-wastage.

The pitfalls buying a low-end laptop is just what you experienced, an unstable Ryzen 5 CPU and unreliable "spinner" drive. Next time spend a bit more for a Windows11 laptop with an Intel i7 12th Gen CPU. You can get an Acer Swift X in a full metal case with a 14" 2K IPS screen, 16GB DDR5 4800 MHz, Gen4 NVMe SSD for only $680. That's probably what you paid in 2019 for your 15" A35. 😀

In some cases you might be right. I bought an thinkpad yoga for school and real work. Never hab Problems with Lenovo so far, but my Acer Aspire 3 a315-41G is in every single part an catastrophic failure, and so is the Nitro 5 of my friend. RAM Sticks not matching speed ( thanks Acer) CPU not Turboing on Battery, Poor battery Life of ca 1,5 hours, an dedicated GPU that is slower than the onboard vega 8 with incompatible drivers to use bouth… It really suffers from the bad decisions of Acer. The UEFi is loocked up the to maximum too. I think they could spend at least some of theire Brain cells, while designing an product. It was definitly the First and last Acer Product. i also asked for an uefi update, so i could at least increase the Memory of Vega Graphics… but they not even tried to hel me in any way.

No PC vendor will customize UEFI (or other firmware), I have a new OLED Asus VivoBook with outdated (W8) Asus apps causing auditing failures but is denied by the Asus technical staff. Lots of horror stories about Lenovo on the web. Asus (used to) make their own motherboards while Acer buys everything off the shelf, both make good affordable PCs. Don't know about gaming rigs.

By what you are saying and how many times you have had problems with your Aspire A315-41 and you have changed the HDD and OS you probably don't know how to setup this laptop to perform properly and that is why your A315-41 laptop is crashing and not performing to its best. Its preferable that you update the bios and firmware for this laptop and run this laptop with 16GB DDR4 ram.

When you changed the 2.5" SATA HDD to the SATA 2.5" SSD you either clone the old boot drive or you do a Clean Install of Win-10 Home that is the oem OS for this laptop. Try all that and see if your laptop will perform better. Good luck.

Acer used to be good Laptop in the Past. I have used them Personally 10 years back, and did recommend many then, but one I got recently (new one….) did not impress me, and I do agree with most of the users who has posted here.

Sorry to hear that as I have been using Acer laptops since 2010 and never had problems, I've used cheap Acer laptops and AMD based Acer laptops, but I mainly use the Intel base laptops and desktops as I consider them the most reliable and best to setup. So that is where you could learn for the future with staying away from AMD based laptops and use the intel base laptops. Acer has always been a very reliable product for me, and as with all tools, you need to setup the laptop up properly and maintain it, because if you don't then problems can accumulate and affect the laptops performance. Good luck.
