Acer TMP249 Battery light indicator keeps on blinking and won't turn on.

I shut down my laptop earlier. When I woke up and turned it on, the screen remained black. I turn it of then, I noticed the battery light blinking constantly. I tried resetting the battery with the pinhole button on the back, but the issue persists. I really need to use my laptop for studying; can you help me troubleshoot this problem?

2017 model? If you haven't replaced the battery yet do that now, 6 years is the max. lifespan. The amber blinking battery LED indicates a bad battery: https://www.laptopbatterydirect.net/acer/acer-travelmate-p249-g2-m-battery.htm Acer part numbers are KT.00405.001 or KT.0040G.007.

For temporary, i would suggest you to force shutdown the unit. Have it connected to ethernet and power on the device. If you still get black screen, leave it for a minute or two.. the device may be updating itself.

There have been a bunch of different TravelMate P249 models over the years. It's best if you tell us which one you have so we can try to answer correctly. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like P249-xxx-xxxx. In some of these models a blinking power LED shows that the battery has failed, in some it shows that the battery is just very low on charge. Do you get any pattern to the blink, like a mix of short and long blinks?

Battery indicator light was blinking quickly at first. Then, when I held down the small hole on the back for a while (the pinhole), the blinking became slow and long.

Without knowing which model you have, we can't make further guesses.
