Hi! I just installed this card last week. I was expecting some hardships, since it is relatively new hardware, so I want you to know that I am not surprised or angry with the product while writing this, but I do want these things to be fixed before I consider this a properly functional product.

When playing the latest Fromsoftware titles "Sekiro" and "Elden Ring" the in-game toggle for HDR is greyed out, as if the system was not compatible with HDR. I read online that this is a common problem with a770 cards.

In many games and applications, when played on full screen, the screen jitters from side to side from time to time, like in a horror film. It's strange and it never stops.

HDMI audio does not work. The issue looks different every time I boot, but the result is always the same, I have to use my motherboard's headphone jack for audio. Sometimes there is no option in Windows for hdmi audio device. Sometimes the option is there, and I can see in Windows settings audio-readout that there is signal, but nothing comes out. Sometimes the HD audio drivers show up in device manager and sometimes they do not. I have tried an old samsung led monitor and a new Sony oled tv. Just yesterday the sound came on for a couple seconds at a time, but it cut off regurlary, so it was unuseable. Today, no sound.

If these three problems are fixed, (HDR in popular games, screen jitter in full screen, hdmi audio) I will be a proud Acer GPU owner. Thanks!

also there should be a category in this community for the Bifrost, it doesn't really fall under any of the existing categories! thanks!!

My guess is they expect you to use the Gaming Accessories section. I haven't worked with the Bifrost cards myself, so can't really help much. Do you have the latest drivers from Intel installed?

Thanks for replying! You might be right, maybe Gaming Accessories would have been better.

Anyway, at first I thought I would stick to the newest drivers available on Acer's support page for the Bifrost, because Intel warns about overwriting OEM specialisations by updating from Intel's website. Then again, the Bifrost app does not check for driver updates, only application updates, so I do not know what would be the update path that Acer originally planned.

Now I reverted to Windows 11 22H2 to have official Intel driver support, and installed latest Intel drivers. All three problems persist. The Bifrost app does not seem to have problems with using non-Acer drivers, other than the in-game-overlay can no longer be brought up at any time at , I wonder if that is result of the Intel drivers.

    Thanks for reading!

Also, I noticed while playing Sekiro, and with nothing special happening on screen, there was a particularly long screen jitter, and it seemed to make the gpu fans ramp up, as if the jitter is really demanding on the card. I checked later on the bifrost app, that the gpu temperature got up 15 degrees celsius in like 6 seconds of jittering while the game was paused

So it's possible the issue is heat related. I wonder if they have a bad paste job on the thermal compound under the fans…

Gamersnexus actually made a video on the Bifrost, and Acer seem to have gone above and beyond with the thermal solution, so I don't think that is the problem, unless I got really unlucky with a bad specimen!

acer won't accept sn for printed on box or card itself for warranty activation, when using predator or intel monitoring tool, any change to values has no effect other than fan speed ie clocks don't change between silent-default-turbo, hdr is a pain on my 120Hz tv too with constand rdr2 reset to low res settings in game , this can sometimes be corrected by switching hdmi inputs on tv but not always, it seems the compatability is with the tv but this never hapened with my nvidia cards so this is a poor excuse when intel could include in driver. in short these are minor issues with easy fixes for devs, sort it out.

update: i seem to have less issues using the driver from acer website as oppose to the intel on the same site or the latest intel from intels website. hdmi is working with hdr at start-up and audio is properly activated. system detection tool remains un-working and predator or intel oc suites appear to do nothing to clocks with the exception of fans which appear fine. i am sending the unit back as faulty and see what happens next.

update, acer only has a driver from oct 2023 that works and isnt updated, intel doesnt support this device, sending back today and ordered a replacement a770 16gb from overclockers, can update this thread with new install tomorrow.

that's interesting, was the acer driver really better for you than the updated intel ones? for me the intel updates have been fixing some issues. not the ones i started this thread for, mind you.

if the intel updates hadn't done anything for me, i would also have returned the product! but if you reply back and say your new intel card performs better than the bifrost, i will feel like a fool anyway!
