@Puraw As the Questions raised by many Acer aspire 7 users that BATTERY DRAINING WITHIN 1.5 HR MAX also CHARGING FULLY WITHIN 15 TO 20 MINUTES like it is jumping battery percentage randomly.

when i plugged in charger then it is charging till 37% to 40% nicely. but when it goes beyond 37/40% it jumps directly to 70% then after 2 seconds it directly jumps to 100%. even i went at acer care center but that care center sir was very irresponsible he just check bios and updated within 20 min and make me sign on the paper to close the case and said the problem is solved. but when i went home and checked again i was facing same issues regarding battery draining and charging within 15 to 20 min.. pls help me what should i do

plz help me everybody

    Hi @Passion,

If the technician has tried updating BIOS, then the issue you reported could be software related. I would suggest you to try the below steps and share your observations.

    1. Press and Hold Win + X
    2. Select Device manager
    3. Uninstall battery drivers (Make sure the charger is connected)
    4. Restart the computer.

Post restarting, charge the device and check if it's charging normally. If yes, then the issue is resolved. If not, we may have to re-install the operating system or replace the battery.

    Hi,

Don't use Windows Energy report but paste this command in the Command Prompt: powercfg /batteryreport the file will be saved in C:\Users\yourname\battery-report.html. Open the file battery-report.html with Edge browser and right click (Context menu) on the report, select "Print to Microsoft PDF" and post the PDF file @Puraw. The Battery statistics are all wrong because BIOS and MS ACPI protocol never registered a full charge cycle so it does not know what the full capacity of your battery is. To correct this situation, you first have to disable Acer Care Center and AcerSense in Services (ACCSvc and AcerSenseSvc) or uninstall the programs in Add and remove programs. Boot to Bios with F2 and press F9 to reset BIOS, save changes and boot to Windows. in Device manager uninstall the 2 battery drivers (red circle on picture) and reboot.

Disable Hibernate and Fast Startup and reset your power plan to factory defaults in Edit Power Plan. Shut down the laptop the proper way with Start on the taskbar and Power-Shutdown. Close the lid and plug in the power adapter with the round barrel plug in the round DC port of your laptop, do not use a USB-C charger at this point if your laptop supports Thunderbolt. Charge till the amber battery LED turns blue (takes about 45 minutes) and wait an extra 10 minutes. Open the lid, boot to Windows and verify that the Battery meter on the taskbar at the right side reads 100%. Unplug the power adapter and use your laptop all day till it turns itself off automatically (system shuts down), don't worry you won't lose data. Close the lid and plug in the power adapter, charge again till the amber battery turns blue and wait an extra 10 minutes. Boot to Windows and generate the Battery Report. This is called a Full Charge Cycle that you only do once after replacing a battery or Reset Windows. Don't limit your battery charging, have the power adapter or USB-C charger plugged in 24/7 and keep the battery fully charged.

The battery capacity left (1 hr) is messed up, either you have a dead battery cell(s) or the battery statistics are wrong, do all the things I suggested above and let us know how old the battery is (3 years?) and what type of power adapter (barrel plug) you are using (voltage, Is this the original 135-Watt adapter or a replacement, has the DC plug a tight fit with an audible click when fully inserted in the DC barrel port? The Energy report states you are using Acer's Custom Power Plan with High Performance when running on battery, that will deplete a battery in 30 minutes when playing games online, change your plan to the Windows default power plans, turn off Turbo Boost 4.3 GHz and turn on the battery saver, in the Battery Power, Mode setting select Balanced. The AMD "U" suffix means it is a power-efficient mobile CPU. The Nvidia GTX 1650 draws only half the power of the RTX 3050, which GPU do you have? If RTX 3050 use only balanced power plan or exclusively the 135-Watt power adapter and avoid a USB-C 100-Watt charger unless the battery is fully charged.

Those temperatures are normal, if you have taken the steps I suggested above and have the power adapter plugged in during gaming you will be OK. 😉
