CPU Fan Speed After Upgrade in Predator Orion 3000 PO3-640

Hi all,

I upgraded the CPU fan with this model: Noctua NH-U9S

edit: my pc is ACER PREDATOR ORION 3000 PO3-640 (RTX 4070)

After the upgrade, there's been a noticeable change in CPU temperature. I'm attaching the images:

This one after game, before the upgrade

After game - cpu fan upgraded

in the game;

idle, just chrome

However, I'm facing a problem now. I can't adjust the CPU fan speed percentage anymore. When I set it to Auto, it runs at the normal 500 RPM, but when I switch to Custom and set any percentage, it runs at the maximum RPM, i.e., 2050 RPM.

I tried changing the machinetype from the feature file of the PredatorSense application, but it didn't work.

Please check these:

Set %70 but it's working on %100

Auto 500 rpm:

Is there anyone who can help me fix this?

PS!!!

I was also thinking of installing the backplate, and I managed to take out the motherboard. However, I realized that it's impossible to do this! I completely wasted my time…

I wanted to warn you not to do what I did!

    Good job with the temps!

If the temps are not a problem, why do you want to rev up the fan RPM manually?

I don't have Acer PC anymore, but I've been using free FanControl for quite some time. It works even with water pumps etc. Maybe give it a try?

For it FC to work properly, you may have to disable PredatorSense. Do not uninstall it, as it might be difficult to source it later. If FanControl works for you and let's you do what you want, then you can unistall PS if you want.

    Hi, thanks for the answer!

I used to be able to control something that I can't control now... Currently, I can only run it on auto or maximum, but my general preference was to keep it around 80% during gaming. :)

I tried a fan control application, but interestingly, it only detected the GPU and calibrated it, which didn't help.

I have the same exact issue , let me know if you found a solution

The issue is the fan shipped with the Noctua isn't quite the same as the stock fan, so it behaves differently. Check with a few of the other posts here and see how many people have used different fans…

Hi, can you run games with 500rpm? If not the 2000 rpm are they still less noisy then the minimum you can set for the built in fans ?
I have a POX-650 and the stock fans are extremely loud even if I set everything to minimum so thinking about getting new fans. But it seems no matter what you are not able to control them as you wish

Since the aim was to reduce the temperatures, I did not try to play games at 500 rpm... The GPU fan noise drowns out everything else while gaming anyway.

But I definitely recommend you to change the CPU fan, the fan on it is very bad!

Thank you for your response. I had tried the fan control application, but I don't remember if I disabled PredatorSense or not. I will try again as you suggested. Did you disable it through the Task Manager?
