Hey

I saw a bios update that enable windows sv2 support. I'm curious if anyone was already installed it. I am still skeptical about updating my bios because I worry it will cause new problems

Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated :)

    Hi @Swipe

There are 12 different versions BIOS on the Acer Support site for all sort of applications. If you are running Windows11 without any issues I strongly advise against experimenting with BIOS versions unless you see a feature/issue on that list that you want to add to Windows or have some problem with a device. Windows 11 Update will offer you the latest BIOS version automatically, don't download BIOS manually.😉

Hey, sir, I don't agree with you. First, BIOS is about the device, not OS. Maybe OP has some Gentoo on it. Second, many newer BIOS updates, especially after the release of Windows 11. While the real-world benefit of that "additional security" is questionable, forums are full of complaints about lags, performance degradation, or even bricking laptops.
My point is, that you should update your bios yourself, always to the exact specific version, which is already community-approved.
Otherwise, you are practically in "on your own risk" territory, practically much deeper, than while doing basic overclocking.

Till a BIOS update crashed your PC that you manually downloaded/flashed for no reason other than curiosity (or running "Gentoo"), my point is: Learn to trust Windows11 23H2 Update feature with MS support efforts that offer updates for your system. But if you have specific firmware issues with your components or LINUX OS and was advised by experienced members here to upgrade your BIOS, you should do it. Update Windows11 23H2 to build 22631.3296. 😉
