Hi everyone,

I notice something weird after Updating bios of my brand new Predator Helios Neo 16 to the latest version

The full charge capacity decreasing to 89,967mWh after it was at the same value with the design capacity at 90,090mWh.

Is this normal?, consider I have been used my laptop since 9th of February.

Thank you in advance.

    Hi everyone,

I have been using my brand new P-Helios Neo16 since 9th of February

I charged my laptop to 100%, After that I run my laptop on battery to test how much it will last

the laptop ran out of battery after 2 hours and half

    the following conditions was applied:

    • web browsing and video playback
    • power mode: best power efficiency
    • predator sense mode: balanced
    • keyboard backlight: turn off after 30 seconds
    • refresh rate: [Dynamic (83 Hz or 165 Hz)]
    • brightness 50%
    • dark mode: on

Is this is normal for a laptop like neo 16?

The design capacity is not a measured value just generic data entered in the Smart chip by the vendor often on the high side (sales pitch). The actual measured capacity is always slightly lower and by resetting or updating BIOS this is probably corrected from what you noted before. If you never did a Full Charge Cycle with your new laptop/battery I recommend you do that now: Disable Hibernate and Fast Startup and reset your Windows Power Plan to factory defaults first, then reboot and charge the battery to 100%, unplug the adapter and use the laptop till the system shuts down automatically. Close the lid and plugin the adapter. Charge without opening the lid till the amber battery LED turns blue and wait 10 minutes. If you want, you can repeat this charge sequence to make sure the battery capacity has been properly registered by BIOS and MS ACPI protocol, but 1 time should be enough. Create a new battery report and print to (Microsoft) PDF in Edge as reference. I don't recommend using AcerSense/Acer Care or any other battery charge 80% limiters.
