If your Bluetooth suddenly stopped working and you're seeing a Code 10 error indicating a faulty driver, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Restart Your Computer:
      • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve driver-related issues. Restart your computer and check if the Bluetooth starts working again.
    2. Update Bluetooth Driver:
      • Go to the Device Manager on your computer.
      • Locate the Bluetooth device, right-click on it, and select "Update driver."
      • Choose the option to search for updated driver software automatically.
    3. Uninstall and Reinstall Bluetooth Driver:
      • In the Device Manager, right-click on the Bluetooth device and choose "Uninstall device."
      • After uninstalling, restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the Bluetooth driver.
    4. Roll Back Driver (if recently updated):
      • If the issue started after a recent driver update, you can try rolling back to the previous version.
      • In the Bluetooth device properties in Device Manager, go to the "Driver" tab, and if the option is available, select "Roll Back Driver."
    5. Check for Windows Updates:
      • Make sure your operating system is up to date. Check for Windows updates and install any pending updates.
    6. System Restore (if applicable):
      • If the issue started recently and you have a restore point, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a previous state when Bluetooth was working.
      • Search for "Create a restore point" in the Windows search bar, go to the "System Protection" tab, and click on "System Restore."
    7. Check for Hardware Issues:
      • Ensure that your Bluetooth hardware is functioning correctly. If you have an external Bluetooth adapter, try it on another computer to verify if the issue is with the computer or the adapter.
    8. Run Windows Troubleshooter:
      • Open the Settings app, go to "Update & Security," and select "Troubleshoot."
      • Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter.
    9. Reinstall Bluetooth Software:
      • If your computer came with Bluetooth software (other than just drivers), consider reinstalling that software from the manufacturer's website.
    10. Contact Support:
      • If none of the above steps resolves the issue, it might be worth reaching out to your computer manufacturer's support for further assistance.

Remember to back up important data before attempting any major changes to your system. If the problem persists, professional assistance may be needed to diagnose and fix the issue.

Bluetooth code 10 is an error that indicates a problem with the hardware or device driver. It may be caused by a missing or corrupted btmshellex.dll file or a compatibility issue between hardware drivers and software. Some possible solutions are updating the device driver through Windows Update, re-registering the btmshellex.dll file, or reinstalling the Bluetooth stack. If none of these work, the Bluetooth module may have failed and needs replacing.

Usually, a Code 10/43 error is a temporary error, generated when Device Manager can't start the hardware device. However this error is considered a generic message indicating an unspecified problem. This most commonly occurs after running a Windows Update that includes Wi-Fi or Bluetooth updates.
