My fan keeps going on and off regardless of heat in acer g3-710

I have an acer g3-710 and when the computer gets hot the fan keeps going on then slowing down even if it cools down. I don't think fans are meant to go on and off on timed intervals. Is there a solution?

Upgrade the oem heatsink cpu cooling system to the high end and excellent Noctua type cpu cooler that is allot more efficient than the oem Acer fitted heatsink/fan cpu cooler, check the dimensions around the cpu first to see if the Noctua NH-U9S chromax.black or the NH-U12S chromax.black will fit and as shown below, as the space is very tight to the ram module and see what cpu cooler will fit. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Fans are supposed to change speed based on temperatures, and they do those speed changes in steps rather than incrementally. We don't have access to the fan table used on the G3-710 models, but typically you would see something like this (from a laptop, but you get the idea):

So in that case your fan would max out when the CPU reached 85C, then not drop down until it got down to 80C.

The fan stops and starts even when it's at 80+ degrees, and it keeps starting and stopping even when it lowers down to below 40.

Fans of the laptop rise to high speed when the system reaches critical temperatures that are set in the controllers and internal instructions of the chipset and Bios. In some cases the om is high, but it is necessary to avoid burning or short pieces. You may be using Sense settings to improve spins. However, the ideal is to keep your system as refrigerated as possible.
A good cooling base with active cooler, keep in an airy place, with cool temperature, under good heat exchange materials, such as glass, cold stones, aluminum, etc ... and maintain the highest level without
    obstructing the air intakes.
