"Standard hardware security not supported" - How to resolve this?

Hi - I got my acer laptop last week from a family member. I have factory reset the laptop and got the latest windows 11 installed. After a day or two, I get this notification on Microsoft Defender as "Device Security requires action". Upon clicking it, I get a message that says "Standard hardware security not supported". I tried navigating through to some forums and I was able to temporarily resolve the issue by updating regedit values. I also read in some forums that there should be a core isolation option to enable but that is not visible for me. Is there a way other than this to get this resolved? Or should I have to get my laptop replaced?

No, it means that your OEM Windows11 Home was installed with Cloud including a policy blocking some Defender editing options, possibly to enable 3rd-party AV programs to work with defender. You will notice that besides Core Isolation you also get that error when trying to do a Quick virus Scan with Defender. I have a new SwiftX with the same issue and just ignore it as everything else including malware/virus checking works perfectly. If you want Core Isolation, you have to Clean install Windows11 with a USB drive and ISO file as I don't believe that a Reset will reinstall Defender from scratch. You can do a Quick Scan with the command prompt. If you have W11 Pro you can edit that policy with GPedit.

Try to live with the issue, it does not bother me one bit, Core Isolation uses memory and slows the system down. Originally it was not a default option for Windows security.

You can try checking the Windows update. I have the unsupported hardware security message after resetting Windows. I just apply the latest Windows updates, use the laptop for a few days, and somehow the device security tab is back to normal.

Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!
