Brand new SP314-54N hard drive disk not detected

I just replaced my old acer laptop after 4 years and got the SP314-54N. I have been using it fine for a whole week and was really happy.

But then I was having issues launching an app on my computer so I went to settings > recovery to restore my computer to a time before the latest update assuming it was a windows update issue. However, it went into an infinity 'preparing automatic repair' and restart loop. Now it will not boot properly at all or recognize my hard drive properly. In the BIOS , it's as if it knows the disk used to exist and now it can't find it. In the command prompt, the disk isn't showing up at all. I'm extremely confused by this sudden technical issue. I contacted Microsoft for Windows support and they said it's a driver issue and therefore to contact the manufacturer. I was trying to do a clean boot and reinstall windows but it can't even find my disk to reinstall the windows.

I haven't dropped the computer or done anything to damage it physically..

Any help on what to do is greatly appreciated.

I recommend bringing the laptop to Acer services in your country to reset the system to factory defaults, either free of charge or only a small service fee may be charged.

Did you buy the SP314-54N used? That model is several years old now, but you might have gotten older stock. It comes with an NVMe SSD drive, which are usually pretty reliable, but they can fail even when new. Try booting on a Windows install flash drive to see if the drive shows up using the command prompt and diskpart, then look at the partitions to see if anything is amiss. Maybe take a picture of the diskpart results from 'list disk', 'list vol' and after selecting the disk, 'list part'. We can usually tell what's going on from those.

I did not get it used I purchased it brand new from the website and it is supposed to be an updated model with i7 and 1tb of SSD. I have tried to do the windows 11 installation from a usb but when I try to install it cannot find my drive to install it. It's as if the internal hard drive became invisible all of a sudden.

Not sure what diskpart is.. is that something to run in command prompt? Additionally I will say that I have tried using windows PE mode and giving volume to the disk, renaming the drive letter etc.. but the disk is unwriteable.

The Acer Spin SP314-54N is a 2020 released laptop and it was initially released with an i7-1065G7 cpu and a i5-1035G4 / i5-1035G1 or a i3-1005G1 and it came with either 4GB or 8Gb or 16GB onboard ram, its definitely NOT the latest release Acer Spin laptop.

The reason why your M.2 SSD boot drive is NOT recognized when you try to reinstall Win-11, is because you need the unzipped IRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology) Driver 17.8.0.1065 file allocated for the SP314-54N on the boot Win-11 installation USB drive, and when you reinstall windows so that when you get to "Where do you want to install Windows > Load driver" you load this driver so that the OS installation recognizes your M.2 SSD boot drive, that is why you can't see the boot drive, because you haven't installed this driver, do that as that will allow you to finish the Win-11 installation. Yes, the drive will not show up during the Windows install (either W10 or W11) until you have the IRST drivers loaded. On the screen where it doesn't show the drive there is a button to use to load the drivers, and the drivers are available on the Acer support site. You will need to extract the drivers, and it's easiest to just put them in a folder on your install flash drive.

This is what the acer support told me when I phoned them. They said I needed to reinstall the drives and therefore send it in. Good to know I can try and install them myself. I will give it a try! Do I put the IRST driver onto the same bootable Win-11 USB I was using?

Yes, you put the unzipped IRST driver version 17.8.0.1065 for the Acer Spin SP314-54N onto the installation Win-11 USB and when you get to the below scree then you click on Load driver and install the IEST driver from the USB and then press Next, as then you will see the M.2 SSD boot drive and the Win-11 installation will continue, its a very simple task.

I realised I have a SP314-55N and made a typo, so I found the IRST file on the acer support website and put that on the USB. I booted from the USB and clicked load drivers and when I select the IRST folder it says:
