2 program versions of ACC were pre-intalled on my 2022/2023 Swift SFX14-51G but only version (2022) ran, stored in 2 folders:
    "C:\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\Local\packages\AcerIncorporated.AcerCareCenterS_48frkmn4z8aw4"
    "C:\ProgramData\Packages\AcerIncorporated.AcerCareCenterS_48frkmn4z8aw4"

ACC versions 4.00.3042.0 (2022) and 4.00.3046 (2023) are both available on Acer Support for my model. The 2022 version is called Acer Care Service and is also offered on the Windows Store.

To uninstall ACC: Type Add or remove Programs in Search and uninstall the 2 entries: Care Center (I believe is the Windows Store version) and Care Center Service that will use the Windows Uninstaller (click on ellipses at the right end, see picture above). To check if uninstalled open Windows Powershell as administrator and paste this Get-AppxPackage | Select Name

Look for AcerCareCenterS; that program should not be there anymore. Only if not properly uninstalled do this:

Paste this in the same Powershell window: Get-AppxPackage AcerIncorporated.AcerCareCenterS | Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers as showed with the previous command.

Check in the 2 folders in C:\ above if the ACC packages have been removed. You can also do a search in Explorer to find any empty ACC program folders that you can safely delete but if not sure just leave those.

Open regedit.exe and move to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and check if this key is still present (see picture)

after uninstalling ACC, export this key (left screen) first, then delete the entire key on the left page. Finally check Task Scheduler-library if there are still ACC or ACC agent tasks present (ready), I just did all the above and there was still UpgradeTool\listCheck.exe task left from Acer Care that I deleted and also in the Registry the Dword in key Compatibility Assistant\Store C:\ProgramData\OEM\UpgradeTool\ListCheck.exe that a deleted. Double check Services if there are still AcerCare Svc services left behind, disable the services in Startup type. There should be only 3 Acer programs running in Task Manager at the background (Quick Access).

    That's it.

    Regarding Uninstalling Acer Care Center

Stop the ACC Svc in Task Manager-Processes tab and in Services AcerCareCenter and disable that service in Properties-Startup type. Reboot and open Add or remove programs, scroll to Acer Care Center and click on the ellipses (3 dots) at the far right and in advanced click Uninstall. If you originally installed ACC from the Windows Store this should remove everything related to Acer Care Center. If you installed an earlier version from Acer Support you should check the Task Scheduler library if some ACC update agents are still Ready or Running, disable those tasks, don't delete as tasks are linked to the registry: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/remove-uninstall-entries-for-apps-in-windows-11.18793/ There may still be some empty program folders left in C:/ that you can ignore or delete, type "Acer Care Center" in Explorer Search bar to find these.

I Installed Acer Care Center From the support section can you guide me from fully uninstalling acer care center?

Try windows X and go to program and features. You can see the list of programs. On the list you can see Acer Care center. You can safely remove it.

It is a program created by Acer.  It is not occupying more space on your computer.   Even if you decide not to remove,  it is not going to make any impact on your computer.

should i uninstall acer care center service and care center though. I mean i am asking to uninstall it but is it worth it? will it cause any harm to my acer laptop? and sometimes it opens to so yeah.

That is up to you to decide, I have uninstalled ACC on 2 of my Acer laptops and many others on this forum have too as it runs on the background and uses valuable resources for no reason, you don't need ACC as it is considered "Bloatware" that runs poorly (hangs) in W10 23H2. You can always reinstall it later from the Windows Store that may install better. All options in ACC are also available in Windows11 23H2 except the Acer restore function but I am not even sure that works. I have another 2023 Asus Laptop with some Bloatware issues (MyAsus causes Audit Failures), but it updates drivers and firmware properly (syncs with Windows Updater) and completely controls my OLED screen resolution, so I leave it alone. 😉

There will be nothing left of ACC if you follow my instructions above, just post a screen shot with @Puraw at the top if you encounter issues.

  • Member Posts: 85 Troubleshooter

what do you mean by this Puraw? "Get-AppxPackage | Select Name" do i select a name?

  • Member Posts: 85 Troubleshooter

    @Puraw Reply man.

Get-AppxPackage | Select Name is the command that creates a list with installed programs, you don't replace anything. Just copy and paste what I wrote above. If you don't see AcerIncorporated.AcerCareCenterS in that list, it means it has been uninstalled already.

If this is a bit confusing, just uninstall ACC in Add or remove programs and forget about PowerShell.

    i saw this man

OK, ACC is still registered as a Windows program, just copy and paste this: Get-AppxPackage AcerIncorporated.AcerCareCenterS | Remove-AppxPackage
In Windows PowerShell opened as administtartor and press Enter.

Nothing happened @Puraw i tried it twice to.

  • ACE, Member Posts: 16,099 Trailblazer

Nothing will happen but if you paste this in PowerShell opened as administrator you won't see AcerCare anymore: Get-AppxPackage | Select Name

    nice thanks @Puraw

nice thanks @Puraw. One last question though, what services and task should i end?

  • ACE, Member Posts: 16,099 Trailblazer

That is the running processes list, you can end a process, but it will start again when you boot, look in the Startup tab Task Manager what that shows. Take a picture of your Startup tab and take a picture of Windows Services what is enabled. Also take a picture of Add and remove programs as there still is an Acer Care process running.

Check Task Scheduler-library for: UpgradeTool\listCheck.exe task left, disable that.
Check Services if there is still AcerCare Svc services, disable that too.

Here's the picture of my start up tab

And Here is the Task scheduler-library picture

I didn't see UpgradeTool\listCheck.exe There but i found some stuff that maybe related to ACC

    @Mck_User07

Task Scheduler jumps from D to S so there are a few pages missing? Also, I can't read the tasks, you have to customize the screen in View like this:

The Startup programs are OK but why so many? Disable the Java Update scheduler you don't need that. This is what it should look like (7 at the most):

And what services are running, if too many for a screen shot, just export to a .csv file and attach (upload) that. Don't post screen shots but upload (attach) as files as the post will bounce.
