Hi all,

I bought an Acer Swift GO 14 on December 31st 2023. I'm having several issues with Zoom app crashing during a meeting when I switch the webcam on or share a presentation from my desktop. This happened already several times and caused loss of recording, webinar I was hosting stopped etc. Very annoying.

Did you experience the same problem. How can it be fixed?

Have you contacted the Zoom people about it? We haven't seen anything from other users.

Yes, I contacted Zoom Technical Support. They have noted that the issue had been also reported by multiple users using this exact laptop model. So, this request has been promoted to tier 2 Technical Support team for further troubleshooting. I stronbgly suggest that Acer and Zoom work together to solve this.

Poor internet connection can also cause Zoom to crash.

Have you found any other use of the camera or mic to cause issues? It still sounds to me like a Zoom issue…

Not on other app like Teams, Google Meet, etc. This is a Zoom problem occurring on this laptop model. I'm also in conversation with the Zoom IT support, they suggested me to test an older version of Zoom (I still have to try). Anyway, this is something Acer should definitely consider and fix.

I uninstalled the latest version of Zoom and installed an older version as suggested by Zoom and it looks like the issue with Zoom crashing etc. is fixed now. However, I asked Zoom support to tackle this issue jointly with Acer. You can find the instructions I received as follows, I hope it helps with other users with same issues:

"I would also like you to please test an older Zoom version on your end to see if the issue would persist. Below are two direct links for version 5.15.2 of the Zoom Desktop Client, in 32-bit or 64-bit Windows respectively:
