Which model Nitro AN515-56 have you got, as there are many variations of this laptop, they either were fitted with the i5-11300H or i7-11370H cpu's or the GTX1650 and some came with the RTX3050 gpu. For this laptop to perform at its best and peak you need to make sure that your bios is up to version 1.08 and the gpu firmware is flashed to version v101a, and your laptop is operating the latest Win-11 Version 23H2 OS build 22631.3085 at the time of this post, and you have all the Intel drivers up to date (use the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant scan to do this) and also install the NVidia GeForce Experience software that notifies and updates your laptop to the latest NVidia game ready driver and also has over 1500 NVidia ultimate settings for games that you should play through this software.

Note: that all this is a must for the Nitro AN515-56 laptop, also this laptop will perform much better in games and high-end software if the laptop is upgrade to its max ram capacity of 32GB at 2x 16GB DDR4-3200MHz CL22 type ram. Do all this and you will have NO freezing. Btw, I've got the exact same laptop and I've also been using this for over two years since new in the box, and I've never ever had any freeing problems in gaming. Minecraft and GTA F21 or 22 and many more games are all in the GeForce Experience game setting so play these games through that software, as even games like Assetto Corsa that are not in GFE play perfectly on this laptop as do many other games. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Update the firmware from the AN515-56 as that firmware is for the AN515-56 gpu overall function and its not model specific or have a look in the windows update > advanced options > optional updates > driver updates > see if there is an Insyde Software-Firmware update there and update that and see if that helps. As I've got the i7 and the RTX3050 and my AN515-56 never locks up with these games as I've set them up with the settings above.

Have you checked your Ram try with one stick installed and then try the next and report back if it works.

Also it could be overheating; the computer is 2 years old a reapplication of the thermal paste could be in order. https://a.co/d/7jsvzGU This is what I use if you want other options take a look at MX5, Artic Silver, or Thermal Grizzly. If you aren't comfortable with disassembly or your laptop, please seek help from a professional.

The Acer Nitro 5 crashing while playing games could be due to a variety of reasons. It's possible that the laptop is overheating, causing it to shut down to prevent damage. It could also be a software issue, such as
outdated drivers or conflicting programs. Additionally, insufficient system resources or hardware problems could be the cause. I recommend checking for software updates, ensuring proper ventilation for the laptop, and monitoring the system's temperature during gameplay.

If you have done all that I've suggested above and you are running this laptop at 32GB CL22 and with the Acer recommended ram for this laptop (see list below) and with a good quality fast PCIe3x4 M.2 SSD drive then its an internal issue that is affecting your gpu, so have that checked out, as I've got virtually the exact same laptop that I've been using daily for over 2 years and this has never happens with my laptop with gaming, my laptop has 32GB @ 2x 16GB HYNIX SO-DIMM DDRIV 3200 KN.16G0G.035 CL22 ram.
