hi all, i recently got an acer nitro 5 from my brother and i noticed whenever i restart the laptop the GPU is limited to 20 watts power draw. i did a factory reset on windows and installed all the newest drivers and windows updates. I've been able to put the laptop back into full power mode by reinstalling the GPU drivers from acers website but I have to reinstall them every time I restart the machine and I cant keep doing this. I've tried calling acer, searching everywhere I can online and nothing I can find helps, I would really appreciate help with fixing this. 🙃

What is your Nitro 5 exact model number and what gpu model does it have, as whenever you install a NVidia driver you have to make sure that you use the NVidia driver Custom > Clean Install option so that all previous version of any NVidia driver is uninstalled before the new driver is installed. As that is what sometimes cause the problem that you are experiencing, try that and let us know if it fixed your problem. Good luck.

Hey I also face this issue where GPU memory clock gets stuck at 6001Mhz and GPU clock also hovers at lower rates , any idea what might be the issue ? , i have to reboot to fix it, I have already tried DDU, disable Fast Startup etc any other suggestions or do i just attempt a full clean install. Have had this happen a few times since i have replace my thermal paste etc but all temperatures are well under control and no throttling is reported and after reboot it works just as well as normal

P.S Power also gets capped around 50-60w.

I have this problem as well. Super low FPS, games are pretty much unplayable until NVIDIA driver is reloaded using NVIDIA driver installation tool….PITA! Have to do this after every restart. Have done a full driver uninstall using NVIDIA Custom driver install with no change. Did complete system factory image restore, no change. Updated the BIOS once and that seemed to help for several months but started doing it again recently and now have the latest BIOS installed so won't update. Running Acer AN515-57,
    Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11400H @ 2.70GHz 2.69 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)

    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060

Afterburner shows super low GPU and Memory Speed…until driver is update then Zoom! Suspect it is somehow being limited in power but don't know how to change this or what setting could influence this. Only NVIDIA driver reload seems to override after every restart.

I should add that all power settings in windows power modes are set to full performance.
