    For the acer recovery management software, check under C:\OEM\Preload\Autorun\app\Acer Recovery Management v6

    Same problem with me.

    I read somewhere that un-installing the "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver" solved the issue but I have not tried it yet, because I accidently deleted the Acer Recovery Management software and am waiting for recover DVD's from Acer.

    Wow Your are the Man!

    I've worked with Acer level 2 support on getting recovery management software and they had NO clue on this.

    Thanks!!!!

    Unfortunately the original question hasn't been solved.  Bluestacks still doesn't work.  Smiley Sad

    Uninstalling the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator did not work.

    With the accelerator disabled, the metro UI was very very sluggish and Bluestacks would not even install.

    i also had the same issue but read on the Samsung site that beta-1 works so i downloaded beta-1 (not the latest beta-2) and it works!  note you have to uninstall beta 2 - there are 2 programs to uninstall in control panel as it will not let you install beta-1 otherwise.

    use the link below to get the beta-1 version - the page says Alpha but it actually is beta-1.

    Glad it works for you too. It's nice to see it works but not sure what apps is worth it since the Android apps are not optimized for tablets so the experience is a bit meh. I would only use it for apps like IMDB and flipboard for now.

    are you able to get android market to work?  everytime i click on an app from the market i get an error than app could not be found.

    No i was not able to get the Android market to work - all apps i want can be downloaded from the 1mobile store.

    by the way there is a newer version that works - just google "bluestacks 0.7.2.751 download".  This version also works and seems to be better than the one I linked earlier.

    Installed and updated on prompt, works, but no use. Tried to install few useful apps, nothing works. Temple run for example. I also tried installing android on usb stick using android x86 project, but that didnt work out as well. Seems we have to be contempt with what we have (windows 8 which is no doubt good). Anyone has any other thing to add?

    Hello,

    sorry for my bad english....

    The new BlueStacks Player works:

    Install the BlueStacks Player for Windows 8

    Go to the command line and type regedit

    and change the following registry entries:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BlueStacks\Guests\Android\FrameBuffer\0]
    "Width"=dword:000003fc
    "Height"=dword:000001f9
    "Depth"=dword:00000010
    "FullScreen"=dword:00000001
    "WindowState"=dword:00000001
    "HideBootProgress"=dword:00000001

    and add a new key to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Scaling

    MonitorSize

    Value: 12.1

    Restart tablet and it works!

    Can anyone else confirm the previous post? And perhaps provide more detail on these steps.... I'd really like to be able to use PlayOn Mobile App on this tablet.

    Yes, I tried it recently, using the registry hack described in this thread. It works, but I found android apps running on Bluestacks on w510 kind of slow. It is usable, but is not very fast. I was interested in Bluestacks on the tablet predominantly for games, and speed is important for that.

    The same software on a powerful laptop works great. I guess Bluestacks emulation is just taxing CPU a bit too much.

    Also the touch-screen operation for android apps may need to be further tweaked or calibrated. Works fine wiht a mouse, but touch screen was a bit offset. But due to perf problem I did not bother to investigate and tune it.

    it does work but this method is a bit slow.  Hey at least you can get some additional apps in the mean time.
