BIOS Update Required To FIX AMD CPUs-TPM Stutter Problem on Win11 in Nitro AN515-45
Tinkerer
Hi,
I have a Nitro AN515-45 model with AMD Ryzen 7 5800H. There is a bad stuttering problem on Windows 11 for all AMD CPUs. You can see many users' messages who encountering this problem and they don't know why. I couldn't find any solution until i see an article about the source of the problem. Then i saw AMD's statement about that. When the user disable the TPM from BIOS, the problem goes away. But Microsoft doesn't advise to disable it.
So Acer should release BIOS updates for laptops with AMD CPU to fix this problem. The problem is affecting the performance and usage badly. Please release the update asap.
Thanks.

AMD are way behind NVidia and Intel in their appropriate driver fixes hence and why you get problems like these happening with AMD systems. Stick to Intel/NVidia laptops as you will have much less problems and headaches😀. Good luck

You are a bit right but this time it is Acer's responsibility to release the fix with a BIOS update and i don't know how to make contact with the Acer Support directly. Do you know the way? 😀

Nope i dont face any issues while gaming etc smooth FPS no lags on latest games etc. Windows 11 UI being glitchy i have seen on intel platform as well but no "stuttering" for me as such. Have seen the video links and no haven't faced any issues like that since the start.

Hi,
Theoretically, you shouldn't be having these fTPM issues. Because the latest BIOS / UEFI firmware version available (1.11) for Nitro AN515-45 series has the AGESA PI-FP6_1.0.0.C version (although it's not the most recent):
The current version of the AGESA microcode for AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series Mobile Processors (codename Cezanne) is 1.0.0.Fa (2023-08-22).
Another detail that also draws attention is the outdated version of the CPU microcode:
Some time ago, I tried to build <here> a list containing Acer's laptop models equipped with AMD Ryzen processors and their respective versions of AGESA and SMU microcodes.
But I was just wasting my time. They probably won't do anything about it...
In your case, I would try updating the AMD Chipset Driver or installing Windows 10 and disabling fTPM in the BIOS settings.

Hey there! You have linked my post. Acer did nothing to fix until now. I refused to accept my laptop and got my refund. Thanks to @eGomes for recommending me to give up and choose another vendor.
Then I bought a Lenovo IdeaPad gaming 3 15ach6 Ryzen 7 5800H with rtx 3060.
It was the best decision I ever made. I'm still receiving bios updates. The agesa code is uptodate and even if I use Arch Linux, my ftpm is not bugged.
I'm sorry for your issue. I hope Acer fixes it but I believe you are on your own.
Good luck!
