I have new ACER Swif SFG 14-41 and I don't run heavy applications or games.

The problem is that the fan is on all the time. Very irriteting.

I tried to go to power setting and advanced and changed the power saving funtions for the processor from 100% to 90%. And with this the fan is off. But i see that the respons of the computer is slower. Is there any other way to solve this with keeping the response time.

Open Acer Quick Access and go to Acer Signature Features-System User Mode. Change setting to Silent Mode, that controls the fan.

Thanks, I've tried this and restarted my computer just to be sure. But sorry to say it didn't help. The fan is still on all the time.

I've got a newer version of the Swift which is the SFX14-51G and my laptop run very hot also, and you will find that especially the M.2 drive and cpu thermal runs hotter than usual laptops also, you need to take them apart and change the oem paste to Liquid Metal, but be very careful as liquid metal paste has to be applied correctly and to the manufacturers strict guide, otherwise you will damage your laptops mainboard, then put an extra thermal pad layer on top of the M.2 SSD boot drive to extract more heat off the drive also, as both these factors of the laptop overheat tremendously as these laptops cooling is not adequate enough, also use a tablet cooler for extra cooling ventilation underneath the laptop, as I've done all that and its reduced temps by 20C-25C from oem temps.

I got the same model Swift which is the SFX14-51G and did not change any settings, it stays remarkable cool probably the coolest laptop I ever had, I just got rid of the bloatware and 3rd-party AV/browsers. Also, cannot hear the fan in Silent Mode. I don't know what you did with your laptop. 😑

Puraw here we go again, YES it gets hot and its M.2 SSD especially gets very hot, I opened my SFX14-51G and I couldn't touch the M.2 SSD drive, as that is how hot it was, as I wanted to change the oem M.2 SSD PCIe 3x4 drive to a PCIe4x4, you never opened the laptop or touched the M.2 drive or changed the paste, don't advise people if you didn't do those things and haven't got experience with the heat from an opened laptop, as the SFX14-51G gets hot with prolonged usage.

Oj, this is quite advanced procedure. The question is how come that this is needed on an new computer, less than couple of month old. It must be faulty product. The computer was not cheep as well. I always thought of Acer as good quality product??

So, I don't dare to do this step.

I agree that the WDC PC SN530 SDBPNPZ-1T00-1114 is slow and the weakest component of this laptop but the heat is completely dissipated by the metal body and the excellent cooling, therefore not noticeable even in the tropics where I live, use it 8 hours/day non-stop outside on our deck. like I said, the coolest laptop I ever had. 😀
