Revo RL70 Media Centre Tuner card detection issue

Brand new RL70, Win7, AVerMedia A373 MiniCard Dual DVB-T appears to be installed correctly, shown in Device Manager with latest drivers. When setting up TV Signal in Media Center, no TV signal or channels are found. Manual setup shows tuners exist, but no TV signal. TV signal detection takes over an hour, as does channel scan.

Am using existing TV hardware (aerial, cable, etc.) that is proven to work.  Any ideas?

As I was at a loss, and a solution was not forthcoming, in desperation a tried upgrading to Windows 8.  Success!

I assume the installation of Windows 8 and/or Windows Media Centre replaced a "corrupted" Windows factory image.

So no real solution, but problem solved.  Only issue now is supplied remote doesn't work with Widows 8!  I see another thread on this, so a common problem.

If your plugging the REVO into your TV, which port are you using? VGA or HDMI? If VGA, this video only or HDMI which is video and sound. What kind of TV do you have? And is there a cable box attached also?

I'm plugging into a Sony Bravia HX753, I have tried both HDMI and VGA (although I'm not sure this will have an impact).  I'm getting video and sound (through HDMI) and video (through VGA) if playing an avi in VLC or Windows Media Centre.  Without tuner detection getting nothing in the form of "TV" through Windows Media Centre.

The aerial signal is standard Free to Air roof aerial that gives perfect Freeview reception when plugged into the TV (and another PC running Windows Media Centre), so the have ruled out aerial, cables, etc.  There is no cable box or any other hardware involved, just the Revo and the TV.  The TV card listed above in the RL70 is a hybrid so should cope with both digital and analogue.

I have tried other TV software (including AVerMedia's own) and these also do not detect the TV Tuner.

As mentioned previously, Windows 7 Device Manager lists the TV tuner as "working correctly" but not sure this is a software problem.

    Thanks.

I have continued to try and resolve this with no success.  Windows Media Centre functions fine, but with no Live TV!

I'm now at a loss for ideas.

I have a similar problem in that all was working fine, then the PC loses the tuner and wont let me watch live tv or record.

First time it happened was when I first purchased it and did a windows update.  it then stopped working.  Had to rebuild from scratch to get it working.

The second time it happened without me doing anything, but I do believe another windows update had happened.  It took me weeks to get it working again, and I still dont know what I did to fix it, but I continually did the same things time and time again and just before I was going to revert back to day 1 (and lose all my recordings) it started working.

Same thing happened again today, and I believe another windows update has happened.
