Hello Acer Community,

I'm seeking advice regarding my Acer Swift 3 SF314-43. Two weeks ago, the laptop shut down due to a low battery and wouldn't turn back on, although the keyboard was lit. Holding down the power button didn't help, so after some research, I performed a battery reset using the pinhole at the back of the laptop. This resolved the issue for 2 weeks.

However, two weeks later, the same problem occurred after a low battery. Subsequent resets didn't immediately fix the issue, but after trying different things and leaving the laptop alone for several hours and then performing another reset, it finally turned on.

I started working and suddenly the screen turned black after 10 min or so as if it was in sleep mode but i couldn’t turn it on.Then out of itself it turned back on and then after 10 min again it did the same but it didn’t turn back on. I did the reset again and it worked.

I immediately send al my importent documents from school what im working on now to my email adres, and i did al the updates that stood in my settings. Considering the laptop was running Windows 10 and there was an option to update to Windows 11, I thought the issue might be related to the operating system. So, I updated to Windows 11. This seemed to work, as the laptop powered on correctly (both screen and keyboard). However, after using it for about 10 minutes and then closing the laptop for the night, the same issue presented itself in the morning: the screen remained black upon opening the laptop, though the keyboard lit up. In the evening i only closed the laptop i didn’t turn it off or anything and i still had the charger in it. Pressing F1 repeatedly resulted in the screen displaying "Windows recovering" for a brief moment before turning black again.

Unfortunately, the laptop is no longer under warranty. The laptop is only 1,5 years old, i don’t think this is normal for a 1,5 year old laptop. If i have to send it to repair do you think i could get it for free because a laptop that costs this much and has this brand should not stop working after 1,5 years. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on how to resolve this recurring issue?

Note: i don’t know if its relevant but i use my laptop regularly for school and when i’m done using it i never turn it off i just close it.

Thank you for your assistance.
