Hi everyone,

Recently had bought Acer Nitro n50-640.

Specs: win 11 home

Rtx 3050 8gb

32gb ram

Intel i5 12400f (i guess)

Ssd 1 tb

First of all, i dont even know what is my mobo. I tried through cpuid but cant really find it, then on mobo says acer inc.

2nd one, i want to upgrade psu unit but ive seen only 8pin, so no 20+4 Pins input. How to solve it? Had scrolled through google, only found adapter 24pin to 8pin but im not sure, i dont wanna burn my mobo really. If somebody has link to compatible adapter i would be thankfull or psu.

3rd. One

I bought cooler master fan with argb so it has 3 pin 5v i think. So again ***** mobo has no argb pin and i dont know how could i make it work. I mean it blows air thats what its supposted to do but i want a lil bit of rgb light.. I bought like the controller unit which goes to sata but nothing has happened. Maybe i bought wrong one. Here is the link to the controller: https://amzn.eu/d/2j34Jpn

If somebody can help i would be thankfull and im willing to pay if somebody can really push me through. Thanks in advance

The mainboard on the Nitro N50-640 are all Acer proprietary Intel® B660 Chipset boards linked to a proprietary single phase 300W or a 500W PSU. The mainboards have an 8pin power connector that can be paired/connected with a 24-pin PSU, you can get a 24pin to 8pin adapter cable on the web and then connect a 24pin PSU to this desktop. With the RGB fans, the N50-640 mainboard has a CPU_FAN1 and SYS_FAN1-fan connectors but for an RGB case fan, you need to buy an ARGB Hub to setup the RGB fans of this desktop. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    Thank you.

Im little bit skeptical about Adapter, i dont know if i should even upgrade psu because of 3 extra fans now? +argb through sata.

Also, succeed with argb mounting. Soon will post a topic.

You think it shouldnt be a problem with adapters?

This desktop was NOT designed with ARGB so there must be a good reason, I will not suggest that you upgrade, leave your desktop oem as ARGB is really a permanent 12 months Christmas tree and there is no need for it😀

Okay thanks. But you think i could trust in the Adapter? It should be properly functionable?
