in your S7 391 system, the SSD shows as one 128/256G or two 64/128G?

in factory seting, does your S7 have a C drive and D drive by default with 64/128G a piece or shows only single disk of 128/256G?

my system show 2 drives with 128G of storage each, i hear that the 2 disk in RAID0 configuration can be combined into one, but the tech support says it can't be done. just want to confirm this.

also, another question: does this SSD connector specially designed to only works with ACER SSD? can I buy a standard form factor mSATA SSD and replace the On-Lite one that comes with the computer?

The SSD should show as a single 128 or 256GB drive (depending on your purchase). In reality it is two but they are tied together with RAID 0.

The big problem that people are having is replicating this RAID 0 configuration if it is lost through SSD replacement. Refurbished S7s seem to be arriving configured as two drives.

Acer pubished instructions in configuring the S7 191 as RAID 0 (which requires a wipe of the partition), and I assumed the same instructions would apply to the 391, but a couple of posters seem to have difficulties. So it is proving to be a problem right now.

I can't comment on the SSD connector as I have not reviewed this closely.

    Here you go:-

Remember this was published for the S7 191 which I thought would be just the same, but a couple of posters say these instructions are not working on the 391. Please let us know how you get on!

well, i can't test this method now, my s7 is still at tech support.see http://community.acer.com/t5/Ultra-Thin/S7-391-my-problems-with-it-and-a-question-how-to-un-raid-the-ssd/m-p/123945

according to the information I found, it is not normal that my S7 had 2 128G partitions out of box, it was supposed to have one single 256G partition, so it may have been un-raided all these month...

I called tech support just now and the technician says the SSD is now normal after wipe and reset to factory setting, one partition RAID0. I dont know how they did it, at least it can be done... haven't fix the touchpad...
