Isn't there a control system that can use the battery efficiently by limiting the battery charge to 80 percent??

    Hi,

There's no benefit in limiting the battery charge to 80%, it will do more harm to battery longevity than any good but it's a personal preference, so if you find the feature in Acer Care Centre you can use it but don't miss a second opinion on it's use.

@brummyfan2 HI can you tell me why its not good to limit the charge and whats the second opinion on its use?

If you limit the battery to 80%
It is said that efficient battery use is possible and battery use is possible for a long time.

However, my laptop does not have an Acer Care Center.

I haven't used the ACC software for almost a year. And since then, I've no more any problems with random restarts with Event ID 41 (kernel power).

Its good that you don't have ACC because I think it causes more problems and it's better to avoid that App altogether, I have been using my laptops on desk and always connected to mains fully charged(100%), there's a mechanism to stop charging once the battery reaches 100%, occasionally, I discharge the battery to 7% and recharge it to 100%, I have shown my settings for Reserve battery level in Advanced settings as an example, I don't use that charge limit feature because I think the Acer laptops are well equipped to maintain the battery but you need to follow certain discipline, like avoiding playing games on battery only mode always, try to play games while connected to mains, you need to fully charge the battery out of the box but some say it's an old practice and you don't have to do it in modern laptops, perhaps, I have more time on my hands 😂

Be very cynical what you read on the web, check credibility of sources, this battery charge limiting story started in Vancouver BC, Canada by Isidor Buchmann of Cadex (the sponsor) and started recently the Battery "University" website, no science or testing involved all purely anecdotal. Unfortunately, the unproven "theory" was quickly hijacked by the bloatware and PC media that saw economic gain and has now many followers including most laptop manufacturers that include battery charge limiting options in their bloatware. Most of us call battery longevity theory a myth and don't use Acer Care Center also for other reasons.

Trying to find a warranty center in Vancouver bc is almost a non starter, Acer is cheap when it comes to warranty centers, they are not very open on places you can go or maybe they use a out of the way place to irritate so people use their own money to get it fixed. I like my laptop, i just do not like their service.
