Why doesn't Acer give you complete directions??

Is there any reason in particular that Acer doesn't print a guide to what the buttons on the All in Ones are for, and why they put microscopic medium grey heiroglypics on light grey plastic to figure out what is what on their systems??  I had to contact support, and it took -them- 20 minutes to figure out what the buttons on my system are for, because the numb skulls at Acer do not have a copy of the system, with anything indicating what button does what, on their "manuals"!  I had -NO- idea what some buttons did, the fact that I had an emergency eject on the DVD, which ports were USB 3.0...what a bunch of amateurs.  I don't just care about the specs Acer, I would like to know where things are located!!!!!!

I'm not sure what you mean by buttons.  Are you referring to the keyboard function keys, misc obscure keys, hotkeys, etc? Or are you referring to the various slots sockets, ports etc on the All in One? Please clarify.

That being said, About five years ago I purchased an Acer laptop. It came with all sorts of pamphlets and a multilingual User's Guide with about 45 pages per language. It contained all the information that I needed (or wanted), with pictures that identified every port slot etc. I still refer to it when the memory fails.  In summary, proper and useful documentation.

Jump ahead to this January. I purchased an Acer All in One that came with a few skimpy pamphlets. No User's Guide for my model nor one available on line. A generic how-to plug most stuff in guide that actually showed a few pictures that identified a few of the slots. I think that the safety, green disposal and FCC notices outnumbered the useful tech info. Hugely disappointing. (I have downloaded all the spec info from the Acer site and printed formy  future reference.)

It appears as if Acer has made a deliberate decision to save money by not providing documentation. This presumably saves them printing costs and not needing competent technical writers.  It wouldn't be too bad if they had boosted the capabilities of their Support group, but my experience indicates that they did not. Win for Acer, loss for us.

Depending on which All in One model you have, I may be able to help you for specific 'buttons' that I have learned through trial and error. Attach a picture to be sure we are referring to the same item.

I just purchased an all in one running win 8. It has a Hotkey Utility..do you just assign what you want to the F keys - are they just blank or do they all have attributes to start with?
