What I would do is SAVE YOUR $$$'s AND DON'T SPEND MONEY ON THE PO3-600 UPGRADE and get a NEW PO3-650 desktop as its cheaper to buy a NEW desktop than upgrade your old PO3-600.

Don't get me wrong, the PO3-600 is a 8th-9th Gen Intel CPU desktop that is paired to a 20 series NVidia gpu and can run a max total of 64GB at max 4x 16GB DDR4-3200MHz type ram in its 4 ram slots which is great, but the new PO3-650 comes with a 13th Gen CPU/RTX4070/max total of 64GB / DDR5-5600Mhz and Gen 4x4 M.2 SSD boot drive which is at least 200% quicker than what you will ever upgrade your PO3-600 8th or 9th Gen cpu desktop to, plus in your PO3-600 you can't upgrade the PSU as its an Acer proprietary power supply, hence you can't upgrade the gpu and you need to get a new mainboard. So you figure the cost out. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    OFF TOPIC

I'd recommend to save money and build completely new PC from scratch. But if you do get anothert Acer stay away from PO3 series as they are almost impossible to upgrage. /OT

If I do not want to get a new pc I would need a new motherboard, case and PSU right?

You would need all of those and then some. For example, a modern PC should have at least 16Gb RAM. But that's not all. You also need proper fans for your new case, way faster storage drive (M.2 nvme SSD) and faster GPU for any real performance gains.

After all this what is left from the old PC? Optical drive, SATA HDD (good for storage), old CPU + cooler.

But since you would still be using your old CPU, it would only slow down your whole system and not allow it to perform as well as it should.

We know you don't want to hear this, but after all those updates you basically built a new PC. So, it's better to save money and build a completely new PC. You can keep that optical drive (if any) and HDD for storage purposes, but that's about it.

Also be aware the motherboard for a PO3-600 (and in fact most, if not all, PO3 models) has that 'diving board' out the front for the front IO ports. With any non-stock case you will no longer have access to those ports.
