My Acer Laptop recently denied me access to my drive. After update cant find my drive Aspire 3
Tinkerer
So I have an Aspire 3 and everything was going fine. One day I was using it and it suddenly restarted on its own, said something about updating and it was fine then. That was until later when I checked my files and I couldn’t find my drive under my computer and I couldn’t access my “Acer(C:)”. I also couldn’t access disk management or anything of the sort because it said I didn’t have an app set for it. I tried opening it up and I did nothing to it really aside from getting dust off where I thought the drive was. It made the issue worse as now my laptop won’t even save the wifi password and I can’t open up any file without file explorer completely failing.

try going into the BIOS and see if the drive is connected, if not then maybe
move the cable away, look if there is anything, take it to service

In windows try to "Reset this PC" without losing my files option, type reset in the Search bar or open the Command prompt as Administrator (right click) and enter systemreset -factoryreset You’ll get a choice to keep your files or remove everything. If you select Keep my files , it will preserve everything.

This means Windows recovery volume has been removed or corrupted. Clean install Windows with a USB disk is your only option or bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country.

hey man this worked, thank you. I just need to get my network adapters in order now. Do you know where I can get them for my PC?

For what model Aspire 3 (there are many different a314, a315 and a317 models), what year and what network adapter is installed, what is your network issue, Wi-Fi or Ethernet (Lan), what version Windows are you running?

wifi, the model says it’s A314, I believe it’s the 2023 one.

Type System in Search and click on "System Information" after "System Model" at line 7 from the top will be your full model's name.

Check in Device Manager-Network adapters, if your WI-Fi adapter is MediaTek model MTK7663, uninstall that driver and install this driver: https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Wireless%20LAN/Wireless%20LAN_MTK_2.0.9.249_W11x64_A.zip?acerid=638061631483643905&Step1=&Step2=&Step3=ASPIRE%20A314-23P&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=AAP_5

Folow this link Acer Drivers & Manuals for the A315-24PT as this is the official Acer site for your laptop drivers and bios and manuals. Also go to the AMD site and get their latest drivers for your cpu and chipset.
