How do I reinstall MS Office 2010

in 2013 Archives

I had problems printing with my new HP printer.  I contacted their support team and one thing lead to another.  Now my preinstalled 2010 Office Word/Excel is lost.  The icons are on the desktop but highlighted in orange and will not open.  Can I get this back.

    We need to determine if it is lost or just the icons are disengaged. Unless you opened control panel>programs and features and told Microsoft Office 2010 to uninstall it is probably still there. In fact that is a good place to check. If it is in the list (is alphabetical) then it is installed.

     

    First what device is this ? The method to proceed is different for a tablet than a netbook and for win 7 vs win 8.

    I found the answer:  Call Microsoft and the number I used as 888-822-5151 and tell them your OFFICE STARTER 2010 turned off.  They are aware of the problem, took control of the problem in less than 5 minutes and now my Excel and Word are working perfectly.
