x3470 no sign of network card

Hi.... I am at a friends house looking at their x3470. He tells me he had to buy a USB WIFI dongle to connect to his router because one day his network lead connection wasn't working.

I have just had  look in the BIOS and see it is there and enabled. I have opened the case and see no signs of damage. Alas in DEVICE MANAGER it simply doesn' exist. Scan for hardware or booting up does not find any new hardware so I am wondering what could hve possibly happened.

I would suggest a possible BIOS update but that is irrelevant as it was as he says, working.

A rough google showed no initial similar problems for anyone else although I cold be wrong.

    Hi!
It is LAN or WiFi the "initial network connection"?
maybe it is disabled, right click on the wifi signal and select "network and sharing center". Then on the left side you shall see the "change adapter settings" option. select it and a new window should appear with the adapters... check if the "missing" connection is there... if not maybe the drivers are not installed (or they misteriously was uninstalled) and you have to download them from the acer support page.

hope this info works Smiley Happy
