Iconia w700 and Windows 7...goodbye Windows 8

After several tries of making Iconia w700 stable on Windows 8, I'm giving up and will try to install Windows 7 if possible. Has anyone tried something similar, will everything work with the drivers provided by Acer for Windows 8? Thanks in advance.

Just some thoughts.  I can't speak to your question for the w700 but can relate some experiences with other units.  I had 7 on a convertible and found I was constantly looking to the keyboard to do things that the tablet functions would not allow.  I also moved from 7 to 8 on an all in one touch and drivers were different and I do not have full function with the all in one due to the upgrade.

Thus I'd guess you may have driver troubles.  Also as an aside 7 starter does not have tablet functionality, you will need the next step up.

Personal opinion and others will correct me if I err but I'd post your problems with 8 here and see if you can work through them, I'd guess it would be a better unit in the end.  I have a w700p and have had no problems thus far.

Well I do have an unused license, for Windows 7 Ultimate, so my guess is that Windows 7 wouldn't be a limitation in this case, but I was hoping to see if anyone had any experience of using Acer provided Windows 8 drivers on Windows 7? Perhaps an answer from someone in Acer, as I do not think I am the only one feeling the serius problems with Windows 8, mainly completely random inability to Boot after Windows update, which somehow damages the Windows, that it is unable to recover using any of the tools at my dispossal. Only complete wipe works. I never had such a problem on Windows 7.
