My laptop won’t boot, and for the last 5 months I’ve been trying to fix it. I bought a new CMOS battery, a new screen, and new RAM. But, the laptop still wouldn’t boot. What is causing the problem?

Its your mainboard power rail that is faulty and you need a technician to look at your board and fix the exact faults or get a new board and you swap the new bord over into this laptop yourself, those are the choices you have.

Best is to get your existing board repaired as 99.99% of boards can be repaired perfectly, unless your boards cpu or gpu or ram or chipset that are and have been shorted and are faulty, as these components are not readily available and are not financially worth replacing as its much cheaper to buy a new mainboard.

There could be allot of reasons why your laptop does not turn on or boot, bad keyboard power switch, bad battery, try to disconnect the battery and try to boot the laptop on the adaptor only, check the screen eDP cable and if its plugs are not shorted at the screen or mainboard, you could have burned/shorted circuitries on the main power rail or a burned out cpu or chipset, IO chip or bios etc etc all these things need to be checked out as the faults for a Non Boot are endless and the best thing that you can do is to take your AN515-51 to an experienced technician so he can analyze your laptop and pinpoint exactly where your laptops booting problems are, as just changing parts will do nothing if your actual mainboard is faulty,

If a repair is going to cost you too much, check and compare if a mainboard replacement is not cheaper, as its quite a doable job for a computer novice to change a mainboard over form a damaged one to a new one in a laptop, if you do it systematically, as that could be a much cheaper fix. I've included some parts to assist you, even if you want to buy a new board for your laptop😀 good luck and hope this helps you out.

    eDP cable

Mainboards fitted to the Nitro AN515-51, check you existing mainboards Acer part number and replace the mainboard with the appropriate board or even an upgraded spec board from what you currently have, as these boards below will fit into your AN515-51 case and port plugs.

My laptop keyboard has one key missing. Could that cause the laptop to not boot? Also, the first time when this issue happened I reseated the ram and it fixed the problem, but then the problem continued again and now reseating the ram again doesn’t work anymore.
