Hi,

I just upgrade my ram from 8gb*2 ddr4 3200 to a new kit of identical 16gb*2 ddr4 3200 ram on my laptop an517-54 with Windows 10 64x

But it still only use 16 gb of ram but windows detect the new 32gb ( or 31,6go precisely ) as see here.

and in cpu-z it say 16GB Channel single as you can see here

When I go in bios it's also only look for 16gb and I can't change anything ( insydeh20 v1;19 )

So, how can enable dual channel and use my 32 gb of RAM here?

Why did you not yet upgrade to Windows11? RAM is running in Single mode at 3200MHz and only detects 1x16GB DDR4 module.
2x16GB DDR4 3200MT/s Non-ECC Unbuffered SODIMM should run in Dual Channel mode at 3200MHz

Acer states "64"GB maximum RAM (but 32GB for the 2 slots), Kingston (link above) 32GB max, RAM, I recommend 2x16GB maximum (32GB).

Did you install VENGEANCE or Fury Impact modules with XMP profiles or plain standard JEDEC? Either 1 module is bad or not inserted/secured in the slot properly. BIOS has nothing to do with RAM, also does not support RAM XMP profiles.

When you reply click on Quote or type @Puraw at the top so I get an alert.

  • Hi @Shaari I believe that one of the modules is not compatible or is damaged, please try the modules separately and check in each case that you get 16GB.

Do both modules have the same technical characteristics?

If they work individually, try installing both modules but exchanging slots.

    All the best.

    Hi Shaari ,

    by the way:

also your Windows Taskmanager shows only one 16 GB module recognized by Windows (not two with 31,6 GB physical memory, as you guessed):

If it were two, it would look like this:

The " Validee 31,6 GB" on your screenshot are the "physical" 16 GB + the virtual memory.

    So I agree with Puraw and Alejandro_AC ! :-)

    regards

    Jochen
