hello, my Acer Swift 3 model number N20C12 will not power on. I hit the reset battery button the other pinhole on the back side that did not work. I tried using different outlets in my home and additionally tried a different 19 V charger. The lap top will not turn on and I’m not getting an indicator light when i connect the charger to it. Can anyone assist ?

Thanks

Are you sure the charger works? We don't have a cross reference, other than Googling, to the N20C12 number as related to the actual model number. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SF3xx-xxx-xxxx. Without knowing which model you have we can't provide much more help, since different models handle things like charging differently.

Disconnect the battery inside and boot the laptop with the power adapter only, you may have a bad battery. If that did not work, try this:
Power drain and, CMOS reset: Open the back of the laptop and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. Locate the CMOS module under the battery (with 2 twisted wires Red and Black, see red circle picture) and remove the coin battery. Shorten the +/- contacts inside the CMOS capsule with a bended paperclip for 2 seconds and put the coin battery back with the + sign facing up, close the CMOS capsule. Next, press the Power Button on the keyboard for 10-15 seconds after that reconnect the battery cable to the motherboard. Close the laptop, plug-in the adapter and try to boot.
