Does anyone know of a charging cable with a 'USB' end in stead of the 'AC' adapter end so it could be plugged into my cars  USB port ??  (This would be for charging while I am driving )

    Hello,

Cannot tell you for sure if you can use car charger - usb for W510. Suggest you doublecheck the capacity of the Watts and Voltage for compatibility and then try using your car charger. You may want to check with store where you bought unit to see if such charger are available for sale for that unit and if so see if you have alreaday correct charger.

    Good day

Since the W510 needs 12v a USB connection (5v) will not work. I only know three ways to connect a W510 to a car's 12v:

    1) Get a 180w 12v-120v inverter and plug the W510 charger in

    2) Take a stock Acer charger, identify the 12v connection and polarity, cut the cable and wire to a filtered/regulated 12v car supply (I would not just connect to the cigarette lighter, automotive 12v is anything from 10v to 16v and is a poorly filtered sine wave).

    3) Open the case and add a conventional barrel jack. Use supply of choice (will void your warrenty).
