I purchased Swift 3 (AMD Ryzen 7, MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 MT7921) last week and facing WiFI issues now. Whenever I start my laptop and connect with my home wifi the internet connection drops (using chrome) and displays error DNS_PORBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG. I need to restart my router and connect again but it works for another 30 minutes then drops again with same error. None of my other laptop, devices are having such issues with home wifi. How to fix it? dns flush, windows defender off, chrome settings (page predictor) etc done. But it seems more of MediaTek drivers??

  • Update the network drivers on Windows, follow these steps:

    1. Type Device Manager in the search field on the taskbar and press Enter.
    2. Select Network adapters.
    3. Update the drivers of each network adapter by right-clicking them one by one and selecting Update driver.
    4. Restart your device and try accessing the website again.

Reset the network settings on Windows, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Start menu and choose Settings.
    2. Click Network & Internet and select Status.
    3. Choose Network reset.

    Clear Google Chrome data/cache:

    1. Click the three dots menu on the top-right corner of your browser.
    2. Hover over More tools and select Clear browsing data.
    3. Choose Time range>All time and click Clear data

    Set up Service provider

In last Enter this URL chrome://settings/security in the chrome web browser. After navigating to the chrome security settings, under the "Use Secure DNS" option, select "with your current service provider" option. now it will work as expected.

followed (did) all 3 steps. still same problem. after 30-40 minutes of work the internet gets disconnected with same error "This site can't be reached. server's IP address cannot be found. DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG" for both Chrome and Edge browsers.

This problem doesn't happen at all with my other laptops (same wifi connection though) or devices (phones). Also, strangely I think the laptop is knocking off (messing) router internet and unless I don't start the router again the internet doesn't work.

Try these 9 tips, not an adapter or laptop issue: https://windowsreport.com/dns_probe_finished_bad_config-windows-10/

On tip #5 try also the Google Open DNS: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG typically happens when the DNS settings are changed on the fly to something that's not correct. Reboot to clear all settings then look at what your DNS settings are for both IPv4 and IPv6. They are likely either set to point at your router or at your ISPs servers. Then wait for the failure and look at them again. If they are different then something has changed them, likely malware of some type. Often malware will change them to route you through another server to capture your activity.
