A315-58 laptop takes different times to boot/show logo (10 minutes to hours and hours)

Once I press the power button. The power button blinks slowly. Like around 8 seconds blue, then 8 seconds off. So it just goes on and off until the Acer logo shows and everything feels normal. The waiting times ranges from minutes to overnight. It happens on battery and plugged in. I noticed the fans are on every time it's blue then dies down when it's not. This leads me to believe that the laptop actually turns on and off and not in a sleep condition.

I've tried the whole 1 minute pressing the battery pin hole and power button. I've tried disconnecting the keyboard and turning on the laptop by hitting the pin that powers it on using a metal.

    Does it flash on and off in 8 second bursts or does it change to blinking faster? Wonder if that's an error code

    IMO this is system (software) related, rogue drivers and corruption. Boot to safe mode (in Windows hold the Shift key down while clicking on Restart) if this boots in <30 seconds you know you have driver and programs that hang, won't shut down and load. First make sure internet is working, open Command Prompt as administrator and paste this followed by pressing Enter:
    Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, after that type: SFC /scannow

    Check in Event Viewer the Applications and Services logs-Microsoft-Windows-Diagnostics Performance-Operational (see picture)

    and click on the last warning or error log, copy that log and paste in WordPad to a txt file, it will give you the boot time in milli seconds or if a shutdown log the shutdown time with the apps/driver that causes the delay.

    You can disable services and programs various ways using Windows Services and change from Automatic to manual start or disable a service. Disable all Startup apps in Task Manager-Startup tab. The best way is to do this methodically with Safe Boot in MSconfig,exe first disabling all non-windows services and the enabling a service each time clicking Apply and reboot.

    No it doesn't really go faster. I'm watching this youtube video that shows a fix for laptop turning off before the logo. It's essentially a check for static buildup. I haven't tried that one. Could it possibly be that though? The difference from my situation is mine feels more like a boot loop before the logo.

    A couple of the logs were about explorer.exe and svchost.exe being slower than usual during boot. Not sure that would help me. Those services are important, right? Sigh…

    Btw it's happening prior and after a clean installation of Windows. This is starting to feel like a faulty hardware situation.

    Did you run Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, after that type: SFC /scannow as I advised above? Did you check the corrupted files SFC found in "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" scroll down to the bottom of that log, the repaired files will be listed and if SFC cannot repair corrupted system files rerun SFC till you see "Found no integrity violation".

    It takes weeks if not months to debug a slow windows11 booting problem, but you are expecting to resolve it in an hour? It is almost always software related with a less than 2-year-old system, never hardware, investigate all logs in Event Viewer and Reliability History-Problem Reports, check critically the programs you have installed, uninstall what you don't really need, don't use 3rd-party AV, browsers, trial Office/Adobe, PC Cleaner and bloatware in W11, boot with Clean (Safe) Boot in MSConfig.exe; disable the non-windows services in the Boot tab, click Apply and see if you can boot in <30 seconds, then one by one enable a service in MSConfig till booting starts to slow down and you found the issue, that's the way it is done😉

    Oh I'm not expecting something fast. I've been dealing with this for a couple of weeks now, before and after clean installing windows. As you can see, I am a new user as this is my newest place to ask.

    So by non-windows, do you mean everything that doesn't say Microsoft Corporation in the Manufacturer column, even the Intel Corporation ones? Also, mind you the issue doesn't happen on a restart. Everything goes smoothly on a restart. The issue happens when I've shut it down, then I power it on the next time I use the laptop. Like I said, like a boot loop, but doesn't show any display/no logo. Power indicator goes on and off.

    don't know what happened to my last reply. It disappeared out of nowhere or got moderated xD.

    Anyway, not expecting anything fast. I've been dealing with this for 2 weeks already and the issue has persisted before and after clean installing windows. As you can see, I'm a new user here as this is my newest place to ask. Mind you that the issue doesn't happen after a restart but after I've shut it down then powered the laptop on for my next use. Like I said, it's like a boot loop but with no display/no logo. I think it's a boot loop coz the fans go on and off as the lights.

    dism just says it fully restored and SFC says it fixed corrupted files, but when I checked the log, it doesn't really say anything about corrupted files.     Here are some solutions you can try to resolve the issue:

    • Boot your laptop in safe mode by holding down the Shift key while clicking on Restart. If your laptop boots in less than 30 seconds, it’s likely that you have drivers and programs that are causing the delay.
    • Reset the Windows Update components by opening the Command Prompt as an administrator and typing the following commands:

    net stop wuauserv
    net stop cryptSvc
    net stop bits
    net stop msiserver
    ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
    net start wuauserv
    net start cryptSvc
    net start bits
    net start msiserver

    • Check the Applications and Services logs in the Event Viewer for any warning or error logs related to boot time. Copy the log and paste it in WordPad to a text file. It will give you the boot time in milliseconds or if a shutdown log, the shutdown time with the apps/driver that causes the delay.
    • If none of the above solutions work, you can try contacting Acer support for further assistance
