I have been getting Driver Power State Failure blue screen for over a year now. I have taken my laptop to 3 computer technicians to have it looked at. I never had this issue until I sent it to tec 1 to have the fans looked at. He returned it like this and had nothing to say about it other than he cleaned it, it was dusty and it probably over heated and now its useless. I never had a blue screen before this tec looked at it. With that said, I am still using it for everyday things with 0 issues. My main issue is when trying to load up specific games. There are only a handful of games I can still play on this without it crashing. I sent it to tec 2, who only did a fresh install, said it was fixed and sent it back. Tec 3 actually looked into some of the issues I was having and after doing his tec stuff ,would try loading up the games that cause the blue screen. I bought this is 2020, so it is not old by no means. I hate to just toss this laptop if there is something someone is missing. If anyone has seen this issue please let me know if there if something I can do myself. I do keep my graphics driver updated.

Games that work and never crash:

Subnautica

Subnautica Below Zero

Slime Rancher

Subsistence

Games that cause blue screen:

Sims 4 (will load and play for quite awhile, but will always blue screen when I try to exit)

Raft(Bluescreen aways on boot up)

Minecraft (Bluescreen 1 out of 5 times on boot up)

Both ID numbers you provided are not recognized by Acer so I have no idea what laptop or Windows version you have😐️

IMO a driver issue, a fresh install of Windows won't fix a bad or outdated driver.

I would try this and see if it helps the Blue Screen problem:

Download last version of DDU from Wagnarsoft (freeware).

I assume you have a Realtek audio card (that's the driver I suspect). Read this DDU tutorial how to delete GPU and audio drivers

    https://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/DDU-Guide-Tutorial

You boot in Safe Mode and run DDU, then delete all your display drivers (both Intel and NIVIDIA) and if you have Realtek audio drivers delete that too, probably better do that in 3 separate DDU runs so you follow the process better. Then do an extra scan with DDU to remove old stray drivers (that option is at the bottom right panel of DDU). Reboot and let Windows10-11 install new drivers, NIVIDIA (GeForce) may take a while sometimes days before Windows installs a suitable driver (all automatic at the background).

Finally because of the crashes you need to restore your system image and repair your system files:

Go online and make sure internet is working, paste the following line in the Command Prompt opened as administrator:

    Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

This should complete successfully, if it hangs more than 1 hour abort (Esc key) and rerun till it completes

Then paste this command in the same Command Prompt window: SFC /Scannow.

SFC will find corrupted files that it will repair, rerun till you get "No integrity violation found"

    Reboot.

  • Hi! What is the exact model? Example: AN515-54-5789. This error could indicate a problem with the power supply or the power adapter as well.

Sorry for the late late late reply. I actually forgot where I had posted for help. I just created a new post here and see that I had one active. This is a screen shot of my system information. I still have the save issues. The laptop is still running perfectly for everything other than gaming.

In the settings page of your new post, you included your profile, please edit that screen shot (black out your name and e-mail address). To find your laptop model that we need to help: Open the Command prompt and paste this: wmic csproduct get name 😉
