Hi, nice community:

I'd like to upgrade the 256Gb Sata M.2 ssd installed in my laptop (Acer Predator NG-G9-793-78L6) with a large NVME SSD:

  1. What is the maximum PCIe Gen compatible with the laptop?
  2. What is the maximum NVMe version compatible?
  3. What is the maximum quantity of Gb/Tb compatible?

I've bought this: https://www.lexar.com/product/lexar-nm790-m-2-2280-pcie-gen-4x4-nvme-ssd/ , the 4Tb version; It "works" with Windows 10 (but It has lags and sometimes the hdd activity led is blinking and the ssd doesn't load anything), but Ubuntu doesn't work (I tried redoing the setup too (23.10) but It doesn't see the unit).

Which is the isse? It's too large in space or It's too modern? (too high PCIe Gen, or too high NVME version?).

Thank You very much indeed to anyone who will help me.

Best Regards.
