LCD cover broken - Parts request + fix Acer Aspire a715-75g

Hello! I'm not savvy with tech language so I hope I'm saying this correctly- I have an Aspire 7, and it seems that the screw holes have broken off from the LCD cover. So every time I open the screen, it pops back out. This happened during the summer, I opened it one day and it just popped. I brought it to Best Buy to get a quote from Geek Squad, and they let me know that they would have to send it over to a different province to be checked by Acer, and then only then would I get a quote, but that it would most likely put me out of at least $600 since I'm out of my warranty.

Is it possible to fix this at home? This is what I have found so far to purchase to replace the lid: https://laptopparts.ca/products/new-acer-aspire-7-a715-41g-a715-42g-a715-75g-black-lcd-back-cover-60-q99n2-002?variant=40066936995927&dfw_tracker=124191-shopify_CA_6846206017623_40066936995927&gclid=Cj0KCQiAiJSeBhCCARIsAHnAzT_3ODLtMH5hLMoSk4rD9thxk3NiOu4jimqp-T7HCtfb8XBWrIOWFeYaAtZSEALw_wcB

Just looking for some guidance! Thank you :)

If it was mine, I would not order a back cover until it was disassembled to see exactly what broke loose. I would search for another laptop repair shop nearby. Often a two part epoxy like JBWeld can be used to repair the broken plastic anchors for the screws.

If the laptop were mine, I wouldn't purchase a back cover until I had disassembled it to identify the specific issue. I would search for another nearby laptop repair shop. In many cases, a two-part epoxy such as JB Weld can be utilized to fix the broken plastic anchors for the screws.

To replace the hinge assembly by Acer Services would cost you around $200, not $600. Gluing the hinge won't work, I tried that with my a515-54G and each time I opened the lid the screen would pop out again, too much force on the corners. Learn to live with it by not closing the lid or get it fixed by Acer, at the end when my laptop developed more issues (after 4 years intensive use) like Touchpad and Power Button failures I got a new (rugged) laptop.

Same thing happened with my Aspire 7 A715-41G (pic attached). It happed because the screw holder broke off from the back panel which is made of pastic. I have warranty but they denied service saying I must have broken it. I compared it with Asus TUF series laptop and found that in those laptop the screw doesn't go much deeper so the screw holder is thicker and wouldn't break so easily like happened with our case. I guess many more people would be suffering the same fate like us.
