I have been using this gaming laptop for about 1.5 years now and the temperatures are a consistent 92 C, probably higher as well, Acer only registers heat up to 92 C. I replaced thermal paste a week ago with Artic Mx-6 paste but absolutely no change, I don't think I added to much or to little but I may be wrong. Maybe I need to change the pads as well? They looked completely fried, please let me know Acer community, thank you 🙏.

Have you upgraded the PCIe SSDs lately, added a large 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD without a heatsink or thermal pad perhaps. That will do it. Update your BIOS and uninstall bloatware and programs that run at the background and are seldom or not used (check Task Manager, Processes tab and the Startup tab). Replace the thermal pads and consider getting a powerful but silent 5-fan cooling pad in the size of your laptop.

Well no, I did no upgrade the ssd or anything in the laptop. I usually have nothing running in the background besides the game I am playing (Minecraft, Madden). I would really not like to get a cooling pad, I heard they don't make much of a difference anyway, what thermal pad would you recommend for my model? Thank you.

The problem is really bad. I open up Madden and it shoots up to 92 C and stays there even on max fan speed (fans are fully cleaned).

Any good quality thermal pad will do, stick one above the SSDs on the inside of the laptop back cover. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Thermal+Grizzly+Minus+Pad+8+High+Performance+Thermal+Pad&i=electronics&tag=akshatblog198-20&ref=nb_sb_noss

I am sorry but you heard wrong about (good quality) cooling pads they reduce the laptop temperature considerably by lifting the laptop up a few cm, improving ventilation for the bottom inlet vents and the extra airflow makes a big difference for the overall cooling of the laptop. Google it. 😉

You should make sure that your laptops RTX3060 gpu has the Acer listed Firmware Version 1.02a installed that “Updates VBIOS NVVDD EDPc setting change from 90A to 135A GeForce RTX 3060 VBIOS ver: 94.06.36.00.62 or 94.06.36.00.61” and you also update to the last BIOS Version 1.11 that “1.Update chipset security integration for may 23 CI” as the last BIOS update is an accumulative update and installs all the BIOS fixes up to this version, as the VBIOS and BIOS are an essential part to assist your laptop to run properly which will also help in your laptop running cooler.

Note: be very careful as if you don’t know how to update a VBIOS or a BIOS then get an experienced technician to do these updates for you, as Acer warns all users “Upgrading your system BIOS incorrectly could harm your Acer product. Please proceed with caution

Also, you need to have the latest Nvidia graphics drivers for your RTX3060 gpu and also make sure that you delete all previous RTX3060 drivers on your system with the new NVidia driver and use the CUSTOM install to do this, then install GeForce Experience software so that you play games through this software and NVidias ultimate settings for your your games, and then for all your high end software’s set them to run on the Nvidia RTX3060 gpu through the NVidia Control Panel. Also make sure that you have all the Intel drivers up to date and all Win-11 updates installed, as doing all this will make your laptop run perfectly.

Search each step that I've detailed above individually on the web, I have no idea where these guides are? Sorry but if its too complex for you, then take your laptop to Acer or a technician that can do this for you, it won't cost much. As its just too complex to explain all this on a forum.

For the VBIOS you need to have experience to flash the firmware and if you don't know, its best to take your laptop to an experienced technician, the BIOS is not that hard as it involves clicking on an application file that will flash the BIOS automatically, but you need to make sure that with all these VBIOS Firmware and BIOS updates, your laptop doesn't have any symptoms of crashing or any BSODs (if your laptop has then don't do a VBOS or a BIOS update) as you will brick your laptop either gpu or BIOS chip if the laptops power turns off mid-way through a VBIOS GPU flash or a BIOS flash.

So, make sure that your laptop is always plugged into a reliable mains power, turn off any anti-virus and/or malware software, don't have any software running in the background, as all these pre flash precautions are essential things that you must do before flashing a VBIOS or a BIOS.
