Hi,

I am a user of Acer Ttriton 17x, and after a couple of hours playing with turbo mode activated, I have noticed the battery was decreasing even if the laptop it was plugged in the power source. The laptop is new, and I would like to know if this is normal.

Thx!

Yes, that is normal with Turbo mode turned on and the CPU and GPU running at maximum watt, more than what the power adapter can deliver. To mitigate the charging issue, you can make sure the battery is 100% charged before playing games, change your Power Plan to Balanced, buy a larger power adapter or uninstall programs and apps running at the background that use a lot of your resources. In Windows11 you can also lower the priority (only for the current session) for certain large programs that you don't need in Task Manager, Processes tab, Efficiency Mode.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply, so it seems I have been sold a product that can't be used to its maximum, this is not mentioned in the ads, thus it should be made known. Which power adapter would be appropriate in order to use the laptop then?

Don't use battery limiting bloatware and don't use the 80% charge limit option in some older Acer Care Center versions. I read that your laptop comes already with a huge 330-Watt power adapter. (brick), there are no larger adapters than that. The USB-C port supports Thunderbolt4 power delivery, and that is something to consider although some users on the forum are highly skeptical using a 90-Watt USB-C charger for 100 Wh battery pack. Laptop media tested the battery life for this laptop with brightness reduced to 30% and all other programs turned off and got 4 hours and 55 minutes of Web browsing, or 4 hours and 18 minutes of video playback. Laptop media concludes in its verdict that the laptop doesn’t have a great battery life.
