Hello, My new Acer Aspire 5 A515-47 randomly disconnects from wifi and reconnects after 5 seconds, this is not a wifi problem because this happens with every network i connect to, the other devices are fine, take note tho that this laptop is almost brand new and i even tried to make a factory reset but nothing changed i changed the DNS updated the drivers from the official website at least that's what windows made me think i did but nothing seems to work, i even reset the network settings also with the cmd and nothing changed, i even checked the frequency of the antenna, however if i send it to repair they won't even notice the problem because it is completly random, it may happen 5 times in a day or go a whole day without doing it, here is the photo of the device manager with all the names of the network devices

Disable all 3rd-party AV and browsers, stop/pause apps from updating. TURN WINDOWS DEFENDER FIREWALL OFF and see if you still have the network disconnect issue. You didn't write if you tried to connect a LAN cable to your router and Ethernet port, if your router has LAN. I have never seen this with my laptops, either Wi-Fi connects or not. You may have a Wi-Fi card issue. try a very simple adapter setup with iPv4 only:

I disabled windows firewall and defender, and set a only ipv4 configuration as you said, i didn't try using an ethernet because this pc is always out of the home, plus the ethernet network card and wifi network card are two separate cards at least that's what windows says, i don't have third party antiviruses i only have Chrome as my main browser, however i don't understand what you mean with stop/pause apps from updating how should i do that? i'll post updates soon if i see the the wifi disconnecting again i'll try playing some online games so i can notice it for sure

  • Hi @TheLoneStar_033 does it use the 2.5Ghz network?
Does your device have a 5Ghz network? If you have it, try it.
Also try accessing Windows in safe mode to see if any applications are interfering:

    Thank you.
    All the best.

How do i check if it has 2.4 Ghz network or 5 Ghz, and how do i try it, sorry for my ignorance

  • If you have two wireless networks, when you search for networks on the computer they will appear with the same name and will be differentiated by the fine that you can add "plus" or the "5Ghz" network, example:

    Network A14
    A14_plus Network or A14_5Ghz Network

    Thank you.
    All the best.

    No it's not 5G unfortunaly

  • Try these procedures:

    Disable the adapter shutdown option:

    Open Device Manager:
Windows key + R and type:
    devmgmt.msc
    okay
    Deploy Network Adapters.
Right-click on Ethernet/Wireless Adapters and click Properties.
    Click Power Management.
Clear the check mark next to Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    Click OK.
    Check.

Reset TCP/IP settings on your PC:

Right click on the Windows prompt and open Terminal (admin)
In the window type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press enter.
    Restart your PC and check.

Resetting the Winsock catalog may also help you:

Right click on the Windows prompt and open Terminal (admin)
In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes and press enter.
    Restart your PC and check.

    Thank you.
    All the best.

i can't find this power managment menu when i click on proprieties

  • Okay, your device does not support that option, I'm going to look for more information about this, while I apply the other two procedures?

    Thank you.
    All the best.

Looks like that after using only an ipv4 configuration the problem happens less often, at least that's what i can see, i've also reset the TCP/IP settings through the cmd multiple times even before this post but that's surely not helping, also deactivating the firewall and windows defender does not looks like it helps either, i've noticed that sometimes not always, in the windows event visualizer, the loss of connection is accompanied with the DNS client error 1014, i've aldready tried changing the dns settings and resetting them however that does not help at all. (this error does not show everytime the connection loss happens)

If your server sets the DNS automatically, set that to Manual in IPv4 (Edit DNS settings) and try an Open DNS address like Google:

yeah i've aldready tried this some time ago multiple times with multiple DNS servers, google one included, but it did not help at all maybe it made it even more unstable

i also noticed that, there is also another error, i'm noticing this now this is actually new to me, in the event visualizer, system which is called DISTRIBUTED COM error 10016

  • In principle, this error does not affect the functionality of Windows and is related to the DCOM components, that is, to the relationship between third-party applications due to a permissions problem, that is, third-party applications that you have installed.

  • The image is in Portuguese. But try disabling the option "THE COMPUTER CAN TURN OFF THE DEVICE TO SAVE POWER".
