why is my nitro an17-41 restarting?

Uninstall OperaGX and use Edge in Windows11 instead. If still OS issues uninstall "Genshin impact", etc., the problems you are having is that some of these programs may not be Windows11 compatible. Also disconnect all your USB devices, one of them may need a windows11 driver or cannot be upgraded to W11.

why is my nitro an17-41 restarting?

This laptop does not have any instructions on doing a battery reset like past Nitro laptop did, so try and do a battery reset by turning the laptop completely off and then pressing the power key for 10 and then reboot the laptop and see if the rebooting stops. If it doesn't then don't open the laptop and send this laptop back to Acer Support as its under warranty and this should not be happening.

not exactly convinced of these as all but opera gx were programs ive used for years and on windows 11. definitely appreciate you taking the time to troubleshoot on my less than helpful information though. was in a bit of a rush at the time, sorry.

it may be too soon to tell, but after trying this, i was actually able to play a significant portion of a couple games which i felt was speeding up the restart rates. how does a battery reset work exactly anyhow? its getting late on my end, but ill definitely want to come back if i dont experience another reset to update. so far, it hasnt reset yet.

A battery reset is what it says, it resets the battery as laptop batteries have a circuit board that communicates with the laptop for all power related functions, and if there are any faults the battery gets turned off so that there is no damage done to the laptop.

The other reset is a Hard Reset (if you want to open the laptop, as it could void your warranty, so check up on that) which entails that you open the back case of your laptop, take the main battery out, disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and short the motherboard plug of the BIOS battery +&- pins out with a paper clip, and also take the ram module(s) out, leave these components disconnected for 15min and reconnect and reboot, as this hard reset will reset the laptops Super IO, BIOS and Chipset components so that the laptop will operate at its default settings, if it doesn't then there is something wrong with your laptop that Acer technicians need to analyze and fix under warranty, as this should not be happening to a new laptop.

ill certainly ask. on that note, laptop restarted at some point while i was asleep. it lasted maybe 3.5 hours after a battery reset attempt.

Did you ever find a fix for your problem? I am having the exact same issue with this laptop, and I cannot find a reason for it. Some days it will run a few hours without a reboot, but the vast majority of the time it randomly reboots to my login screen. I'm crossing my fingers you find a resolution without having to send it in for service. I have run every test I can think of, and I am at a loss. Please share your results when you have a moment. Thanks!

    Hi @Nuttle,

Have you checked if your Nitro AN17-41 has the UEFI firmware / BIOS updated with the latest version available!?

Yeah, I was just hoping that OP would see my post and had found a fix. I'll end up doing this if nothing comes of posting here. Thanks for the heads up though.

@eGomes I thought about this a week or so ago, and completely forgot to check. I just checked and I am indeed running an out-of-date version. I'm on 1.02 and 1.10 is currently available. I will try updating to see if it solves my issue. There are 2 updates that state it addresses system instability, so this very well may work. Glad you replied here with your comment. Fingers crossed this is the solution. Thank you!
