I am using Swiftx16 (SFX16-61G).
While charging with the included power supply, when I connect my LG monitor (27un850) via usb-c, it automatically switches to usb-c pd charging.
This reduces the laptop's performance due to the low power supply and makes it unsuitable for graphics work. It also makes it unsuitable for gaming.
I previously used Dell's XPS 15 9570 laptop, and on that model, charging from the power supply was prioritized over USB-C PD charging. I didn't have this performance reduction issue.
Therefore, I desperately want Acer to fix this issue with a BIOS or firmware update, and I want all Acer users and customer support to be aware of this issue.
[Edited the thread to add model name to the title]
Charge with a 90-Watt USB-C charger or with the AC 135-Watt brick to the DC barrel port and connect the LG monitor with a HDMI 2.0b cable? 😉
Does the same problem occur when updating the bios to version 1.07?
Unfortunately, it's happening on BIOS version 1.07, which is the most recent as of 10/17/2023.
This solves the power issue, but I'd rather use USB-C, because connecting USB-C to a laptop has significant advantages, such as being able to use the monitor's USB hub function or controlling the OSD settings with software. So I'd rather have an inherent solution to USB-C charging. .
Posting here doesn't get your comments to the Acer support people or the engineers. Just to other Acer users. Best to make those types of requests through the Acer support team.
