I have Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 and decided to give it a shot as well. Made an upgrade to the same RAM (the abovementioned one) of the same capacity, wanted to share my experience with you. The RAM is detected in BIOS and by the system (tested it in both Windows 11 and Debian 12). On linux everything works just fine without any extra configuration. On windows, however, it's not so perfect for me. Using 64GB and the latest AMD Graphics driver (31.0.21902.5 as while I make a comment on it, but a few older versions as well) my laptop integrated display is completely black, except for a visible mouse cursor. Downgrading the amount of RAM to only 32GB solves the issue, no matter what channel or RAM plank I use. I also tried updating the drivers for the AMD's integrated graphics through the windows device utily tool, which in fact downgrades the driver a lot (to like a previous yeah driver version). This solves the issue and the integrated display works normally. That's how I mostly use my windows for now, no issues arise in general, memory is available to all programms and I take advantage of that. Sticking to the older version of drivers might not be the case for you, unfortunately, as my Quest Pro headset refuses to work with them, unless I update them to the latest version, so you might still encounter something similar. In my case, whenever I need the latest version I simply perform an upgrade to it, but then roll it back to an older one. This isn't perfect, but that's all I managed to achieve so far. Having an external display is highly recommended in such case.

Beside that, if I ever found a solution to the problem, or perhaps AMD gods show mercy on me with their drivers update, I'll gladly inform about it here just in case.

I have been using 2 sticks of KF432S20IB1K2_32 with my AN515-45 and it seems to be working fine no issues till now on windows 11 but the latest amd driver 23.9.2+ seems to be causing a lot of issues and i thought the issue was with the ram https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/browser-freezing-lock-ups-and-black-screens-when-browsing-and/m-p/632763

So i just did a clean install with 23.9.1 drivers and all issues relating to BSD and Freezing etc have gone away since. Not sure about the Quest Pro suppor tho. Just had to disable windows update forcing new drivers on my system as well.

    Hi,

I also stayed on the version 23.9.1 of the AMD Software Adrenalin Edition, after seeing these problem reports. To make things even worse, I have an Aspire 5 A515-45G with UEFI firmware which, thanks to Acer's total neglect, doesn't have AGESA PI microcode updates.

    Has anyone tried version 23.9.3?

I did and it causes super slow boot times and well freezes, and lock ups as mentioned in the linked thread above

    Hi @n77nikhil,

Glad you were able to find a solution to this issue! 😉👍

    I don't know what's worse:

Acer simply delays or does not provide firmware updates for the AGESA microcode. Or if it's AMD and its faulty drivers.
