Hello everyone. i recently did a mistake and connected a cable from my phone charger directly to my Laptop's USB port, resulting in an instant turn off of it.

Now, it works well, even other ports works well too. but the mentioned port doesn't work at all. I've tried restarting, uninstalling drivers from device manager, no lucks.

My laptop has 2 ports on the left side (lower one doesn't work now) and a single port on the right side. 2 of them works well.

Plus, i'm sensing heat in the left side of my laptop, exactly where the USB ports are.

Any ideas?

Your model has 1 USB Type-C port: USB 3.1 Gen 1 without power delivery capability and no Thunderbolt3, but I guess you found that out already. You busted the USB-C 3.1 port as no power is allowed to go in, only power out. You are lucky the motherboard is not affected. There is nothing you can do about that bad USB port, just use the other USB ports. There are adapters available to connect USB-C plugs to USB. If the heat increases over time, you should bring the laptop to Acer Services to disconnect that bad USB-C port internally or replace the USB-C circuit (may be costly).

Hey man, thank you for your reply, i appreciate it.

I need to note, my type c USB is OK. and has no problems.

The problem is my USB 3 ports. left side of my laptop, has 3 USB ports: one USB-C, and two USB-3 s. only the lower USB-3 doesn't work(and i accidentally plugged in the charger). the rest of USB s do their job well.

Plus, I'm sensing HUGE battery lost after the accident, even I'm losing battery when my laptop is totally off! which i highly assume related to the accident.

Any ideas? i already tried doing the 15second trick.
